Yes, because the ones, I tend to wear day to day are too worn out to wear in a fancy hotel. Plus I want to look updated and not like a hick.
Am I the only one that does this? Every time we have a vacation (just me and hubby), I buy both of us new clothes to wear. Now, I'm a super sale shopper so I pay very little for clothing but I just *feel* the need to do this! I don't buy the kids new clothes when we go on vacations with them.
My husband and I do get away on business vacations that he qualifies for thru his company. In June we went to Mexico for 4 days and now we are going to Vegas for 4 days. He did not qualify for the Hawaii trip this year...darn...so close and I have never been. They are all expenses paid, including giving us cash for "fun" money.
Even when hubby and I can spend the night somewhere on our No Kid Weekends (ex's have them same weekends, every other weekend) if I have time, I will buy a new nightie to wear that night.
I guess I just think its fun and I'm excited and buying new clothes add to that feeling. Just wondering if anyone else ever does this?

When I was younger, yes, I almost had to buy new clothes for vacations, as I did not have, say, appropriate Hawaiian skirts, sandals, etc.
Now, at 50, it seems that I have too much, and I don't buy much at all.
As a matter of fact, my fun traveling tip, is....I take the clothes I am ready to get rid of, wear them and leave them in the closets for the house keepers with a note....."Please keep." I even put $$ in the shirt pockets for fun. I always wonder what they think when they get that home. And this frees up room for items purchased while there.
Yes! Of course I only go on vacation about twice a decade so to me it's a super-big deal.
Right now I'm planning for a mini-cruise with my mom, sister, & aunt in January. I've never been on a cruise at all, have never been out of the country & have never gone on any sort of vacation without my husband & kids so this is a first all around for me. I'm so excited I can barely even stand myself to be totally honest!! I have been buying dressy sandals & tops on clearance since all the winter clothes are out now & it's working out perfectly!!
Not every trip, but some. Makes it more exciting, yes? :)
Nope, I have tried and true travel clothes that I pack. They are comfortable, mix and match, layer for all kinds of weather and don't wrinkle (too much). Everything, including 2 pairs of shoes, fits in a 22" carryon. Sometimes I add a different piece but once I made the mistake of packing a newer pair of shoes and regretted it when I had blisters by day 2 of the trip. I'm sure you look more stylish in your travel photos than I do!
A part of the fun for me is to buy new clothes for a vacation trip.
If I can. Sure. Who wouldn't want a new outfit when you know you will be taking pictures.
Not really. I tend to buy new clothes ON vacation. :)
I don't, unless there is something we need for the vacation (need, not want) and we don't have it in our closet. But, we are on a very tight budget.
Oh yeah!! I always buy new swimsuits and fancy dresses. Who knows what will happen!! :)
I do sometimes but I usually try to limit myself to things I need and maybe one special outfit. I have few dressy clothes since I am a SAHM right now.
No the kids and I already have too many clothes. The only time I buy more is if my husband will not have enough of something while we are away. Otherwise I am content to the wear the same old same old.
Generally, I buy new clothes when I need them.
Or if I see a GREAT sale on something I need or want....so, no...I guess I don't do that. :)
When it comes to packing, I always hate my clothes and wonder what it is I actually wear each day.... Did buy a pair of pants from Chicos from their travel line and have found them great for on-the-move travel days and sitting on a plane. Thin fabric, though, so need to pair with tights for colder weather. Also, can roll them up in the suit case, lightweight, and no wrinkles.
Nope. I usually buy something while on vacation.
My typical wardrobe is minimal but up to date. I'm not one to love shopping so I buy great pieces when I find what I love. I have a personal shopper with White House Black Market who knows my tastes and she calls me when she gets something in she knows I'll love. I have yet to not purchase what she picked out! She's great!
