Yes they do, it might start itching and irritated, always use baby lotions, less ingredients on them.
Excuse me if I sound ignorant but do infants get dry skin like we do? My 3 month old has little bumps on her body, they're not red or irritated but I wondered if it could just be dry skin from her baths. I know that if I don't put lotion on after my shower, my skin can get bumpy from being dry. I don't usually put any lotion or body oil on her, should I? I'm not too concerned but I will be if they don't go away. If anyone has any advise, I'd appreciate it.
Thank you for your advice. I tried lotion and Aveno Baby Wash and it seems to be getting better.

My son has eczema, dry skin with little bumps and the way we treat it is using Cetaphil bath wash because all the 'baby washes' dried him out to much. Then we use Eucerin lotion after his bath. It cleared it up in less than a week and has kept it under control.
When my son get's dry skin I use California Baby Calming Cream. If he get's red, irritated bumps I use Motherlove Diaper Rash & Thrush cream. Diaper area or not. It works miracles and I found it at A Mother's Haven in Encino.
Hi M.,
There could be one other irritant that can cause bumps. Laundry detergent. Try changing the detergent you use on her linens and clothes. This happened to my oldest daughter when she was little and after I made that change it went away.
I have a 3 month old too and she has sometimes little red bumps but the doctor said that is just dry skin and she recomended some lotion after every bath and actually it worked perfectly. I tried aveno lotion for her. You should try it too.
I have a 5 month old and she has had dry skin since she was born. I started uesing Renew lotion. It keeps her dry skin soft and I only have to ues it once a day instead of 4 and she is not a grease little pig. It also has helped with cradle cap.
My daughter had the same thing. I also use Cetaphil wash and Aveeno. We've used: Cetaphil, Aveeno, Eczema Care, and Mustela. All worked well. Now that she is older we have to alternate because she started to become immune to some of them when I used them for long periods of time. Eczema never goes away so when your baby is older you could also try kukui oil. HTH
Try the lotions, etc. but keep an close eye that is not eczema and check with your pediatrician. Does anyone in your family have asthma? Eczema in an infant can be a sign of dairy/protein allergy and/or asthma. Since she is young, don't hesitate to ask your pediatrician. Signed, mother of six!
Yes, infants do get dry skin. My son was one of them. I definitely recommend using lotion. I am biased, however, because I will only use Arbonne. It is free of dyes, perfumes and fragrances, or animal by-products. I have found it works best on my kids and I feel confident about not putting chemicals on their skin. The soap you are currently using may be causing the added dryness. I would look into this product as they have sunscreen, diaper cream and hair and body wash as well. You can order online at www.arbonne.com. If you sign up as a member/consultant(dont have to sell it) you get 35%-80% off. My ID is #15390430, or look for one in your area when you sign up.
I am pretty sure this will help get rid of the bumps, it always does for my son.
