This made me smile!!! Sounds like my house with 2 boys (and a husband who never stops eating but still stays rail thin...evil, I know!). :-)
I think I am pretty lucky....both my kids are really good eaters. They do have their days where they don't eat as much or don't want something, but for the most part they love to eat. I can remember my daughter always wanting to eat and I never left the house without a snack, but she has slowed down some at 3.5. My little guy at 16 months LOVES to eat and some days I feel like he just wants to eat and eat. THe days that he is really hungry I will feed him breakfast, lunch, and dinner with 2 snacks in between and leave a bowl of dry cereal on the table so he can snack on that. I'm looking for other moms that have sons that eat like that and how do you help their enormous hunger? This morning from 7 to 10:30 he had a bowl of grapes, 2 banana oatmeal muffins, and some homemade chicken tenders and was still hungry and so I sliced up some carrots. He wanted another muffin but 2 is the limit for the day. He is napping now, but I know he will be hungry when he wakes up :-) I'm not complaining....just wondering what other moms do for their ever hungry sons!
So what everyone is saying is....I need a farm in my backyard to keep up with his eating? :-) Or a cook in my kitchen to keep up with the meals at least!!! Thanks, Moms! It's nice to know others have sons with bottomless pits for stomachs, also.

This made me laugh. I have two boys, 9 & 12. More protein, less carbs. Fruit and carbs (muffins) turn into sugar and burn up fast thus being hungry again quicker. Wait until he is about 8, the real eating will begin! We have gone thru a loaf of bread and gallon of milk in two days. In fact, I buy 2-3 gallons of milk and 4-5 loaves of bread at a time. Enjoy your little boy!
If you give him more protein he won't be asking for food so often. Such as eggs at breakfast, yogurt, string cheese, chicken or tuna fish sandwiches, nuts, vienna sausages. My boys eat often and are always hungry and they are bigger than my girls (size-wise).
I'm laughing too. I have 3 kids, and they are all different. My second son would get by on a glass of milk and a piece of bread if I let him, but my first... well - we just finished lunch and here's what he ate:
A ham/turkey sandwich
3/4 of an avocado
a kiwi
a WHOLE HUGE banana
1/2 a tomato
grapes
2 glasses of milk.
Some days I feel like I have to cut him off too, but he's nearly 5 and growing like crazy. Boys eat. Then, my third is a girl and she eats a ton too!
I remember distinctly a day when my oldest was about 2 and we had the neighbor girl over for a playdate and it was time for lunch. I made them the same plates and her Dad got there just as I was setting them down to the table. Her Dad looked at me like I was insane - his daughter picked at the food... my son ate his entire plate. It was hysterical. I had no idea how much my boy ate compared to her... and now I am constantly having to edit my second child's plate because I constantly overfill it!
Keep feeding him as long as what you give him is healthy food, and he is in his right weight range, he should be fine :)

LOL.... YES!!! The older my boys are getting, the more they want to eat!
My oldest is almost 3 and would eat all day (if we let him)! My husband and I say that his favorite word is "snack"!!!! He eats a big breakfast (cut up fruit, Cheerios with milk, and a yogurt smoothie around 7am and is ready for a snack around 9am and often wants another after 10:30am....and of course eats a giants lunch (sandwich and a healthy snack), afternoon snack, dinner, and another healthy snack before bed~ I just always keep lots of healthy snacks on hand and figure he is a growing boy! I have an almost 9 month old too who is definitely keeping up with his brother when it comes to eating! I can't imagine what it will be like when they are teenagers!!!! yikes......
Wait until he becomes a teen. I kid you not mine could drink a whole gallon of milk at one sitting. I actually put him on milk rations as we were going through over two gallons a day. Then there was the food, between him adn my husband I seriously thought about getting a cow and some beef cattle.
He may be going througha growth spurt. If he is within the range and not getting "hefty" then I wouldn't be too concerned.
He is probably just growing. My son is 2 1/2 and eats a LOT also. He has slowed down a bit and some days he eats more than others. He loves everything and there would be days where he would eat a piece of peanut butter toast and 3 bowls of cereal for breakfast and then want a snack a short time later. I just feed him. I try to keep his food as healthy as possible and rarley give him junk food, but if he's hungry i feed him. He is very active and not over weight. His is 35 lbs and 38 inches tall about so he is just a bit bigger for his age but healthy. We dont buy sugary cereal only more healthy ones so if he wants to eat more he can have his cereal. He is a boy and i think boys tend to eat more than girls to an extent. We treat him to a happy meal once every couple weeks at the most and he has been able to take a whole happy meal down since he was 12 months old. He just loves food! It sounds like hes eating healthy so keep it up. I have a girl on the way, so it will be fun to see the differences. My son will graze all day long and still eat his meals though. Especially when going through a growth spurt. Good Luck!!!
sometimes when kids are hungry, they are actually thirsty. Always have on hand bottle or cups of water for them to drink. Just a thought. Those kids sound like my sisters kids... they eat a lot and very healthy. My son barely eats. He is 2 and half. almost three. No snacks, etc. But he is healthy too ... Maybe he drinks too much juice ...
