As a home day care provider myself, I agree with the other 2 moms. I have at least 2 in a program before considering loading up all 5 kids for transportation. Think fairness to the other families as well considering it affects the other kids in how their day is spent. I'd stay with the home day care you are in, having been there 4 years and liking it there otherwise. Most CENTERS are not open at 5:30am, let alone home day cares so it looks like you found a good fit for your family (plus a full 11 hour day is a long day, centers are often open 12 hours total and home day cares 10-11 hours a day). Many home day care providers also do not transport kids at all. On days I have 6, transportation is not even an option, as it is not an option for many who will take as many as 8 kids. So considering all that, I'd stay with the home day care you are in. My first thought too was to see if there is another Peter Pan family close by who could transport your kids for you. Best wishes!
Seeing your "what happened" it sounds tricky. Just FYI, the home day care ratios DO allow for more than one infant. Do you maybe have your standards book stashed somewhere to refresh your memory by chance? Ratios for one provider are 8 kids total under the age of 12. No more than 5 under the age of 5 and no more than three under 24 months OR no more than 6 under five years and no more than 2 under 30 months. Hope this helps...
