Dizzy

I remember feeling a little dizzy with my last pregnancy but I am so dizzy all the time now. There are times when I can't drive or do anything because of it. I'm getting worried that there's more to it than normal pregnancy hormonal stuff. If I move my eyes at all, I get dizzy. It's hard to get anything done at all. And on the days when I don't feel so bad with the morning sickness, I still feel nauseas because of the dizziness. By the way, I'm seven weeks along. I don't have my first OB appointment till the 24th of June. Is this normal or should I be calling my doctor?

I would suggest calling your doctor and getting in sooner. I can't say for sure what may be causing your dizziness, but if your iron is low that can cause it. I would have them run blood tests and see if anything comes back. Don't wait until the 24th. because that is not normal to feel dizzy during pregnancy. I had that trouble with my oldest son and I passed out one time and come to find out it was because I was anemic. I would start with blood work. Make it a point to tell your ob/gyn that you need to get in sooner and you want blood work done to see if you may be anemic or if there is something else going on to cause you to be dizzy.

J., how has the dizziness been lately?

I have experienced dizziness on and off for the past 2 years or more and finally got fed up with it and went to see a neurologist about it. He diagnosed me with BPV (benign positional vertigo) in which there are particles in your ear that cause you to feel dizzy when they shift such as when you move your head into a certain position. It happened to me most when I would lay down or wash/dry my hair, and when doing sit ups. They were able to "fix" me the same day I was diagnosed by doing these certain head positions to get the particles back where they were supposed to be. Since then I haven't had one episode of dizziness. I wish I hadn't waited so long to take care of it, but I am so happy that I finally did.

I hope you were able to get your dizziness checked out and resolved as well. I know how miserable it can make you.

How are your ears? I was getting really bad dizzy spell and it turned out that I had fluid in my ears. It was nothing serious, but annoying! I couldn't drive anywhere because I was so dizzy. Call your doctor and try to get in earlier. Explain your situation, they should have appts reserved for situations that need immediate attention. Good luck! :D

Since you are getting it a lot more, I would call the doctor. They may need to run tests on you. I actually need to have surgery on my nose because I have a blockage and it was making me so dizzy. The doctor told me that the pregnancy could make mine worse. When I got pregnant though, the dizziness went away.

It sounds like it could be hormonal, or you could have a low sugar level. Call your doctor just in case to be safe!

Congratulations!

You should go to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist. It sounds like what I had a few months ago. It sounds like you are suffering from a type of vitgago and they know how to treat it. You probably have it when you are not pregant but you may not notice it as much.
