I have heard lots of great things about the Diva Cup and I have decided to get one. My question is: What do you do when you are in a public washroom? If I am camping I am not going to have to leave the toilet stall to clean it in the sink, am I? What do you Diva Cup users do in that type of situation?

What can I do next?

I usually carry a travel pack of unscented baby wipes. Dump and wipe it out, put it back in. I also like to have the wipes to clean my hands if needed.

You can also dump and just wipe it out with some TP in a pinch. Clean it in the sink the next time you get a chance.

The other option is to have two. Dump and wipe out the one you're using, and put the other one in. Bring the one you just used out and wash it out, put it in its bag and it's ready for the next switch. Don't forget to boil them both at the end of your cycle.

It seems kind of icky and complicated to the non-menstrual cup user....but trust me, it's MUCH better than having to buy tampons or pads every month, and once you get the hang of it, SO much cleaner.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I'd rather die than camp, so I can't really speak to that question, but if you have a normal flow, you only have to deal with the Diva Cup every 12 hours. So chances are that you wouldn't really ever be in a public restroom and have to deal with it. In a situation like camping, where it's hard to ever really be clean, whether it's your hands or other parts of your body :-/ I'd opt for disposable products, I think.

When I'm in a public restroom, I just dump and reuse. I wash it in the sink when I get home.

I think, if I were camping or knew I wasn't going to have access to a private sink, I would just use disposable products for that time.

Or, take a bottle of water in the toilet with you... Wipe it clean with TP or wipes, rinse it, and you should be good. :)

I've used The Keeper (same design as Diva Cup, just made of natural rubber) for over 10 years now. I agree with the previous comments. I've been camping too. The baby wipes are perfect for both situations. Having 2 is also a good idea. For the public bathrooms, wet a paper towel to take into the stall with you in a crunch. Way Way better than buying the disposable products: http://beyondblindfold.com/still-using-tampons-or-pads-yo...

I take a bottle of water with me, Wash my hands on the way into the bathroom, remove divacup, dump in toilet, rinse divacup over toilet (held between spread legs) by pouring bottle of water over it, re-insert. If hands need it, rinse them with a little of the bottled water, so not exiting stall "red-handed", wipe button up. Wash hands on the way out.
