I've never used it, but my best friend LOVES hers. She said she can't even feel it in there and it's so easy and waste-free.
Hello mamas
I was wondering if any of you have tried the Diva Cup as a tampon alternative. Does it work well, does it feel uncomfortable, do you like it. I've been using tampons for years but read an ad for the Diva cup and I like the idea of eliminating tampon/pad waste because they are reusable... any information would be great.
thank you
Thank you so much for all that have replied. I will start with the Instead Cup to see if it is for me. I guess it's cheaper alternative to see if it even works for me. Thank you again and have a great day.

I've used it for 3 years and love it! My SIL tried it and hated it, so it's not for everyone, but I will never go back to tampons.
I've used one for 5 or 6 years. They are great! No leaks. Very comfortable.
I have friends that rave about it...it didn't work for me, but then I figured out that it isn't recommended for tilted uterus which I have.
Good luck, I think it's great that you are trying that route. Here is a recent discussion on diva cup and its alternatives:
I must admit -I'm put off by the whole thing, but I have a friend who RAVES about it. She absolutely loves it, so that's another positive review for you.
I have one & two other people I know have it & like it. My only complaint is that apparently I did it wrong or didn't clean it well enough cause I got a uti & I usually don't get them, so I have not been using as much.
I have one and I love it. I haven't used it in a while as I am pregnant but I will go back as soon as I can. I found it a little uncomfortable at first but then I cut a little bit off the end like they suggest and now I don't hardly even know it is there. No more cramps when a tampon gets full (which I would get) and you hardly every have to remove it. Just make sure you follow the directions and clean it good and sterilize it after every period. I have heard from some people that because of how their uterus is tilted it didn't work well so that is something to keep in mind.
I bought one many years ago and tried it and it was not comfortable. I could feel it all the time and I did not like it. This was probably at least 7 or 8 years ago so maybe they have improved the design but I did not like it.
I bought it and it did not work AT ALL. I got the size for after having children and literally, it didn't even work - but it may be because my uterus is so posterior, so I didn't get it in place perfectly? I have found that the INSTEAD cups worked great, but not since having my 3rd baby.
I have never tried one, but I have heard lots of good and bad about them. I was about to make the splurge to buy one myself, but did not want to spend that much money on something I would use once and find it was not for me. So, I went to Walmart and bought an inexpensive box of Instead Cups to see if that sort of thing was for me. What I discovered was that the whole reaching into my hoo-ha to insert and then find the thing was just not for me. :o) I felt that any time it would pop off. If you work all day or are out of the house, how do you empty them? Dump it in a public restroom and then give it a quick rinse in the sink? Ewwww...just not for me.
I LOVE the Diva cup. Wish I had known about this 20 years ago! So much less mess, no leaking overnight...was even good on a camping trip. I tell everyone I know about it. Look on Ebay for different sellers. You can usually get it for around $20...and you won't need to spend money on nor storage for all the other products in your house.
I've been using a Diva Cup since after my first child was born (6 years ago). Usually I love it, but there was a stretch of several months when I didn't and I tried Instead Cups then. I found Insteads to be much more messy and difficult to position, and much prefer the Diva in design and ease of getting it into the right position and back out again with little to no mess. I also tried sea sponges for awhile and while nothing beat the comfort since they were so flexible, but they didn't hold much or last nearly as long before breaking down -- I was a lot more concerned with germs with them because it never seemed like they got clean so I ended up only using them one cycle before tossing. It wasn't worth the risk! Of the 3 things I've tried, the Diva is by far my favorite. I also used cloth pads on occasion, which are also great but of course a much different experience.
I've been using the Diva cup for just over a year. It took a couple months to get use to, but now I LOVE it and won't go back to tampons!!! I cut the tip and now I don't feel a thing.
