Disposable Diapers to Cloth Diapers Before Potty Training?

Anyone else switch from disposable diapers to cloth before potty training? I was considering doing this (and using cloth until potty training is complete), because I've read that they feel the wetness more with cloth, and it makes training easier/faster.

On the one hand, this seems like a great idea if I can get cloth diapers used (and cheap), but on the other hand -- I'm wondering if I'm crazy. Anyone else try this?

What can I do next?

I switched; my son turned two in July. Right now he could care less about using the potty at home, but has used it twice successfully at daycare.

I switched because I was tired of all the waste I was contributing by using disposables and for potty training.

I admit he does say that he went to the potty right after he pees. I know we have a long way to go and he is still young but I think it was the right choice for me.

I use prefolds, fitted and AIO.

i would just go to cloth underwear if you think they are ready to be trained

I use cloth underwear (the really thick ones and the rubber pants for potty training because the can be pulled up and down..... I never have used disposable. (saved bunches of money and didnt have chemical next to those supre sensitive private areas!)

oops I read your question backwards! switching to cloth would be a great idea but you dont necessarily need to go to a flat dieaper you can go to the cloth underwear... unless you are a ways off (and you maybe with boys!! then I would say absolutely invest in a couple dozen clothes and a few covers - your budget and health will be greatly rewarded!!)

I use cloth diapers already. My baby is only 8 months, but I heard the same information that they potty train better and faster because the wetness doesn't disappear immediately. Good cloth diapers are expensive so you may just want to try the training pants with rubber covers like others have suggested, since your boys are 2.
