Displaced by Renovation

We are getting our master bedroom shower renovated. It's been a long-time coming since the fiberglass shower bottom was a magnet for mildew and the ambience screamed 1970s powder blue.

While this is all well and good, DD and I have been displaced from our home. We can't go back for her nap and my inlaws as usual have stepped up to the plate and taken her extra days.

This leaves me with major guilt of course which I plan on remedying with a gift.

I'm just curiousa s to how you coped during a renovation and toddler in tow.

I seriously feel like I'm living in my car the entire day because we live in the middle of nowhere.

Plus I'm trying to complete an online class that is concluding by April 2.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We have to leave the house because DD can't nap through the banging, sawing and radio the contractor uses. He also goes up and down the stairs often. Normally we leave the house for a morning activity but now we are just out all day.

E S,
I feel ya.
We had some new flooring installed in O. room and a little work in the powder room and I was ashamed at how the furniture piled high like on Hoarders for a few days ROCKED my world. Now I shudder to think about the upcoming kitchen remodel which will be WAY more "stuff" moved around and take much longer.
Just be grateful (I know you are!) that your daughter has a semblance of routine at the grandparents and roll with it the best you can...can you work on your class at their place as well, maybe?

I had my bathroom renovated to include a new shower surround. I worked graveyard and slept thru the mess. Why do you have to leave the house? And for how long? I didn't totally redo the bathroom. Only the shower and put up wall paper. It was done in less than a week. Perhaps yours is a major renovation but still you shouldn't have to leave the house and it shouldn't take longer than a couple of weeks.

Perhaps I don't understand your situation.

Keep your eye on the prize, girl. You'll enjoy your new bathroom for many years to come, so in proportion THIS time of major inconvenience will seem like nothing at all!
