What's your experience? Like it, love it or leave it?

It sounds good to me, but thought I'd ask how other parents like it.

What can I do next?

I never had a problem with the movie club at all. We used it as a means to get the classics for my daughter. We kept the membership after we fulfilled our contract and bought several other movies as well. When it came time to cancel, they gave us no problems. The only thing I would keep an eye on are the mailings that you receive. You will get a card for a featured movie and if you don't call to say that you don't want it, you will recieve it in the mail and your card will be charged. If you do forget to call though, don't open the movie, write "return to sender" on it and your account will get credited. It happened to me several times.

no experience with it. I prefer to rent from the library instead of cluttering up my house with movies. Depending on the age of your kids i think alot of the programing on PBS is great and the commericals aren't too bad.

I'm a member, and I love it! The person saying that you pay higher prices and don't end up saving money...is wrong. I got 7 movies for $21...and I only have to buy 3 more at regular price...that includes the pre-order Tangled dvd/blu-ray combo pack I just purchased for $25. The ones you buy after the promo are just standard priced dvds. If I pay $25 for the last 2 movies I have yet to purchase, that's only $9.60 per movie (10 total)...that's better than going to Walmart and getting them. Plus, you can get the older ones that are super hard to find in the stores.

I have always watched my money and did my best to spend it wisely. A movie club is NOT a wise way to spend money. If you look at all the costs, especially the postage and handling, you will find you can save money by buying the movies at Amazon or Barnes and Nobel or your local Walmart.

Good luck to you and yours.

Do a search as several people have asked similar questions.

Here was my reponse to a question posted in September.

There was a post about this on August 26th. You may want to check it out.

I was a member. What was nice was I joined in the fall, got lots of movies for Christmas presents at the low price and was able to fullfill my club obligations and pay those higher prices later. In the long run you wind up paying the same whether in the club or at the stores.

There are advantages - like you can get some of the older movies that are difficult to find in the stores, you can choose the type of format you like (I hate widescreen, which is what is selling in the stores).
