We are headed to Disney World in September and I have a few questions concerning the trading pins/cards. Where do I get them? What are they? I welcome any other tips or tricks too. We will be there for 9 days (first time visit). Also, we are taking a day to go to the beach-any recommendations?

What can I do next?

The pins you can pretty much buy anywhere in Orlando. What they are is any cast memeber will trade pins with you. It's fun my son enjoys collecting and trading them with people. I would drive to Clearwater area! We have a BEAUTIFUL beach called Caladesi Island, you have to take a ferry boat to get to it but we always will see pods of dolphins! It's by far the nicest beach I've been to.

You can get the pins on eBay for a lot less. The people who sell pins usually sell lanyards as well. In the parks pins range from $7.95 to $12.95 each. On eBay you can buy a lot of 25 for less than $20. They are the same pins and are legitimate to trade. I buy a lot and give my kids 5 new pins each day. That way they look forward to their new pins each day.

Disney is September will be hot. I don't know how old your kids are but lots of water is essential. Since your staying 9 days I would take a day of rest after 2 days at the parks. You can go to downtown disney or explore the different resorts. There's a lot to do. You can catch the magic kingdom fireworks at the contemporary hotel on the balcony or from the Grand Floridian in hammocks.

I have season passes to Disney and love to go. If you want to message me, I'll be happy to tell you what's worked for us.

Blessings and have a ball!

I agree with Patty that the pins are heavy and a pain to wear . I was constantly putting them in my bag when we went on a ride . We like to get the "smush coins" or pressed pennies. They have machines all over the park . You can buy a book at the gift shops to put them in . Make sure you bring a couple of rolls of quarters and pennies. Some are $.51 for the penny ones and the quarter ones cost $1.25 . The contemporary has a bunch of them by the elevators by Chef Mickeys .I hear September is a great time to go because it is the least crowded . Have a Magical Trip !!!!

You can buy them online (disney store.com), too! We're planning a trip in December and I might buy a few to get us started--I saw a few 4-packs that come with a lanyard! We have also heard great things about the Clearwater area and actually booked 2 nights in Tampa before we come home.

You can get Pins in the stores at Disney World but you can also buy a few at a Disney Store before you go. You can also check EBAY and Craigs List before you go too.
You are about an hour away from Coco Beach.
You did not say how old your kids were but my suggestion is to take lots of breaks during the hot part of the day and enjoy the parks early morning and early evening when it is cooler. If you are staying at a Park hotel be sure and take advantage of the dining plan. You will save a lot of money.
Thanks,

They sell the pins all over the parks and downtown Disney. I recommend getting a book to carry them (it looks like a little suitcase). They fall off all the time and I find so many on the ground.

The weather is still hot here in Sept. and the parks are not as crowded once school starts. Cocoa Beach is about an hour or so to the east on the Atlantic and Clearwater is about an hour and a half to the west on the gulf. Both are nice places to visit.

My neighbor and I were going at the same time, so we researched the most inexpensive way to get the pins. If you look up Disney pins on e-bay, they sell them in lots. We got a ton of pins and shared them between the 4 kids. We also purchased lanyards for the pins. I would only suggest on putting 4 or 5 pins at a time on the lanyards. Every cast member must trade. We ended up getting some really awesome pins out of it.

We were just there a few wks ago. It will be super hot and humid. It was about 85 degrees the week were there and it was great !

Make sure you bring rain capes or purchase them there. We needed them for the 20 minute rapid rains ! If you wear flip flops in the rain---It could be a disaster. We ended up wearing sneakers after i ____@____.com went to Vero Beach. We stayed @ the Disney Resort there. It's a bit of a drive though.

Don't miss the Electric Parade in Disney.

If you go to Animal Kingdom...See the Lion King Show. Get a fast pass for the safari.

My favorite restaurants are: Be Our Guest (It's new) and Mama Melrose. Make reservations way ahead of time.
