Dirty Nails

What do you do or use to get your kids' toe nails clean. I've tried everything from trimming them short to using scrub brushes made for the feet etc..and I can't get rid of the dirt. Today they still have dirt under their toes. Ugh...don't know what to do.

They take baths so yes you'd think the soaking would help. :)

What can I do next?

Sometimes, you just have to give your kids pedicures! Put some baking soda in the bath (maybe 1-2 cups) to soften things up, take one of those nail cuticle pushing back things and clean around the sides and under the nails. I find the best method is to cut the nails before bath, soak and play, before they get out push cuticles back and clean around and under nails. Then scrub then with a nail brush. I hope this helps!

do they soak in the bathtub or just take showers?

That will make the difference. I honestly have not seen this as an issue...if you use the tub.

Or you could just make them wear socks with their shoes!

I have the same issue with my 3 year old daughter. Her toes get NASTY! She gets a bath every single night, and I scrub them, but sometimes I just can't seem to get them clean! I have never had this problem before!

That's interesting. I noticed my son had dirt caked in his toenails the other day. It scared me at first because his toenails were brown and looked very strange. We had been in a lot of dirt that day as we were at a building site. I clipped his nails and was able to dig out what was left.
