I just wanted to chime in to say that you've all listed all of my favorite foods!!
The only thing I 100% will not consume is artificial sweeteners
Unhealthy foods are:
1 coffee
2 sodas
3 processed meats like hotdogs, sausage, etc
4 white breads
5 fried foods
6 meats with fat
7 sweets like candy, donuts, pastries, etc
What I would love to know is what are good foods? What are the good fruits and good fish and good veggies? How do you buy things at the supermarket cause I dont know what is good or bad. I am a sahm to 2 beautiful children and a wife to an incredible man and I would love to feed the RIGHT things to them, but DONT know how!!! It seems healthy and organic is MORE money and increases the grocery bill, and in this economy were many of us are struggling that is hard. My grocery bill to go healthier went up like 200$ more a month.... I dont want to put that financial strain on us! So if you can help with ideas.... that would be GREAT!!!
Where to buy?
What to look for?
How to eat healthier???
Thanks
Y.
refined sugar, which includes ice cream, cake...any hi-fructose juice, aspartame and "fake" sugars;(gum, popsicles, sugary yogurts...sugar-bomb cereals...)
Pizza, which includes bleached flour,
any canned product, esp.tuna, vegetables soaked in salt;
processed cheese; gas station foods like chips, soda and gum.
I'll quit now before I have to go throw up!
I believe they are french fries and soda. I grew up on both and think that I should not eat them nor my kids.
Diet soda --Either aspartame or splenda sweetened
Processed foods w/MSG
High-fructose corn syrup
GMO anything
White sugar
white flour
white bread
Most "snack" foods
Meat fed meat
Highly processed Dairy products
Non-organic fruit and veggies that are not peeled
Soda is definately the worst! Nothing good about it...except the taste....lol
any animal from earth, air, water
Mc donalds food
very cheese-greasy pizza
"children" chemical, coloured, sweet acid candies
coca cola or any soda
false juice fruits full of white sugar
white bleached rice, sugar, salt, flour
High fructose corn syrup & hydrogentated or partially hydrogenated anything. There are also 12 fruits & veggies that you should buy organic because of their high pesticide levels. - Peaches, apples, bell peppers, celery, nectarines, strawberries, cherries, pears, imported grapes, spinach, lettuce, potatoes. My theory, i try to buy organic as much as possible..its better for your health & the health of the planet. Anything refined is bad too...you should really try to eat whole foods....foods that occur naturally.
White bread and other white flour products
Hydrogenated oil
Processed cheese
Food coloring
Preservatives
Milk
Splenda
Lunchables
High fructose corn syrup (because it is a sugar that raises choclestorol because of how processed it is!)
Soda
Liquor
Refined white sugar
Anything fried, processed, refined. Anything that contains saturated fat, soybean oil, high fructose corn syrup.
Specific foods I have to stay away from or I pick up weight immediately: soda, any candy, cookies, baked goods (even bread), pizza, pasta, rice, ice cream, fried foods, chips, crackers.
doughnuts, nothing but fat and sugar.
Soda, artificial juices, Most Cereals, Cheeses, Milk (Dairy in General), Pizza, Ice Cream, Candy, Refined sugars and starches in general, Processed foods, White bread ?????
There are so many items that fit your list I don't know where to begin really.
My ideal diet would include lots of raw foods like veggies and fruits and nuts and seeds. Then I would juice ( I used to juice quite a bit, but the clean up takes so long). I would intake lots of the Ningxia wolfberry for the antioxidant power and steam fish and veggies lightly for dinner being careful the fish didn't have a high mercury content. I would stay away from dairy and most red meat and eat hormone free meat. I would drink almond milk instead of dairy milk.
I am far from that diet now, but I'm trying to get back to it slowly for me and my family.
maybe I'm one of the weird ones, but I don't really put food in categories of good and bad. I know what's the most healthy for people to consume and try to do that as much as possible, but if I feel like having bacon or soda or french fries or even donuts... I do it. I'm not even close to being overweight and neither are my children. My cholesterol and hormone levels are in the healthy range. We choose fruits and veggies most of the time, but there are no rules for bad foods here. *what I've learned over time is that when you're eating healthy things, your appetite for processed foods go down and you crave less of that anyway*
surprised gravy didn't make the list on some of the others though. ;o)
Carbonated soda, raised, glazed donuts, macaroni salad, french fries, fastfood hamburgers, luncheon meat, bacon, margarine, fried chicken (in vegetable oil), white cake with white frosting, chimichangas with sour cream & guacamole
Red dye 40 and high fructose corn syrup is the worst combination, IMO. High fructose corn syrup is okay occasionally, but red dye I try to avoid at all costs.
Here's my 12: Koolade, soda, "fruit snacks", twinkies, Velveeta, Fruit Loops, popsicles, doughnuts, cookies, potato chips, candy.
They are what I see as empty calories...no nutritional value.
Even foods that are fattening, if they have nutritional value, I would not put on my "bad" list. Yes, bacon is fattening, but is does have protein in it. Dairy products have protein and calcium, meat is protein, avocados are a "good" fat.
