Dinosaur Themed Underpants for Little GIRLS

My DD is huge into dinosaurs (Dino Dan, Dinosaur Train, etc). I told her that when she stopped having accidents in her panties that I would buy her whatever panties she wanted as a reward. Unfortunately she wants dinosaurs and I can't find them in girl panties, size 2-3T. Any suggestions? Maybe some offbeat store I haven't found yet? I don't need them yet, but she's doing great and I'd like to give her the reward I promised.

I am also open to suggestions on patterns to make my own for her or if you know a reliable source for getting them made to order. She really wants GIRL underwear. Keep the suggestions coming!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

These are great suggestions!

We have a few pairs of thick trainers but most are thin Hanes panties. She is doing awesome. Overnight and for long outings I put her in a diaper or diaper cover just in case but she's been totally accident free for more than a day now, including overnight. I would say we are at the end of the initial training phase. She's been learning about potties for quite a while, but been physically unable to put it all together.

I also have a friend in the UK who offered to go to one of their stores where they sell dino briefs for boys without the fly. She'll bring them with her when we see her in a couple of months, if she can find them. If she can't someone else offered iron on transfers for regular underpants and someone else offered me her pattern that she used for her little one. I think I will likely use one of those options before buying off etsy or similar, as even with the pounds to dollars conversion, I can get 5 pairs for about $14, vs 1 pair for $10-$17.

I think Hanes is totally missing a market here. :)

My daughter is three and LOVEs her boxer briefs..she wanted undies like her Daddy and brother. At this age, she won't care. Little boy undies may work. The iron on transfers will work, but they don't hold up well to washings. I tried that with my son and after one or two washings they were crumbled messes. Last year my son wanted Ghostbuster undies and shirts, so I used acrylic paints to make them. A year later they are still around. I am NOT a painter, but this was pretty easy to do. PM if you want to know how I did it.

At her age, I'd just get her the boy ones if you can't find girl ones. . .
I had two older brothers - guess what my training pants were - you guessed it - NFL. LOL. (we have pictures, otherwise I'd have no idea at my ripe old age)
But if you haven't check Hanah Andersen, osh kosh, maybe Cafe Press where you can print a design on almost anything!
Good luck!

I agree with Christy J, buy the "boy" ones if that's all you can find, your daughter is so young I'm sure she won't care!

Go to Michaels or some other store that has' Iron On ' transfers, put them on some now where she can watch you maybe even help, letting her know soon they will be ready for her to wear, what a big girl she will be then!

Buy a pack of plain white girls undies, and a pack of iron-on sheets from a craft/sewing store like Michaels and JoAnn etc. You can print any design on these sheets on your computer and they'll transfer to fabric like any other iron-on.

If you can find good pics on-line of Dinosaur characters, you can print them on these sheets and customize her under clothes and more.

As others have suggested - I think you can make some. I did something similar when potty training my now-4 year old son, and I think it's worth sharing. He LOVED the Aliens Love Underpants books. The inside cover of each book has pictures of crazy underwear -- and he wanted certain ones and kept asking if I could get them for him.
I reached out to the author/publisher and they confirmed they didn't exist. So, I made them - bought and dyed basic white underwear into a few primary colors then used fabric paints to copy the pictures. They turned out adorable and he absolutely LOVES them. I'm not incredibly crafty, but this was easy and even I was successful.
Though the fabric has faded a bit in the 1+ year since, the pictures are still brilliant. He thought it SO cool that I made them for him. They turned out so well, I took pictures of them to remember my best-yet crafty idea.
Good luck!

There are no dinosaur underwear for girls. Believe me, I've looked everywhere. :) I do most of my shopping for my six year old girl in the boys department, because dinosaurs are her NUMBER ONE THING, but I draw the line at buying her boys briefs. :)

You aren't breaking your promise to buy her whichever she picks...she just needs to pick from what's available. Take her to the store, to the girls department, and let her pick.

gymboree has great dinosaur underwear...in fact they had a cute set with Monday through Sunday pairs and dinosaurs on them...one for each day of the week. They were bright colors and although sold on the boy side of the store...I think a girl could wear them.

Hi, AV:

Do they have dinosaur patches you can sew or iron on plain
underpants?

Good luck.

I would go with the iron on transfers.... you can buy iron on sheets at Walmart, and print your own pictures.

I don't know what stage you're at in potty training but you might try searching "cloth training pants." They tend to be more gender neutral in their design but still have a variety of pictures on them. These might work for your daughter: http://www.naturalbabyhome.com/whittrainpan.html
Potty Scotty brand also has some dinosaur ones and you could try Etsy. Etsy has a lot of variety and often you can custom order. Good luck!

Awww, my first born was so into Dinosaurs at that age. I love it! Sadly, if you can't find any by googling I bet they don't make them. I would either buy her boys or make some with the iron transfers, a great idea.
Just wanted to say keep nurturing her individuality as a girl.
Our Dino phase lasted quite a while and my girl could name about 30 of them at around 3 yrs, told everyone she wanted to be a Paleantologist, super cute.
She is now a very confident and beautiful 13 year old who is well rounded and not afraid to speak her mind. Letting girls be who they are is so important, you sound like a great Mom.
Princesses are WAY over rated IMHO!
