Hi - I'm drowning in digital photos and need to get them stored someplace other than my computers! We have multiples places they are (phones, computer, camera, etc) and I want to use a cloud service or something to store them all. Any recommendations since there seem to be quite a few options and I don't want to go the wrong route. Thanks Mama's!

What can I do next?

I use Picasa, it is free and stores it all for you automatically except for video which you have to manually upload.
My computer was dying and I signed up with Carbonite so my programs and word documents would not be lost. I had used a hard drive and one day it just died. We can not access anything on it. I have it saved just in case we ever want to pay whatever it would cost for a professional in data retrieval to get the stuff off of there.

I use Shutterfly AND an external HD. I've lost pictures before, and it sucks.

I store all of ours on an external terabyte drive and then burn them onto CDs after I get a chance to turn them all right way round, delete the bad ones and label all the folders.
I store the CDs in one of those big zippered wallets.
I don't trust cloud type online services after one of them lost several months worth of pictures from my husband's phone that I hadn't backed up anywhere else yet. It refuses to give them back.
Also, it can cost quite a bit depending on just how may pictures you take. We take thousands! And even after deleting the bad ones we still have a ton left.
Every once in a bit a upload a batch of the best of the best to Costco and get them printed up.

We have an external hard drive that all our pictures are on. It's easy to back up from the computer every time we download more pics, and I feel more confident that it will last rather than trusting a website or company who may or may not be around in 20 years. They are small and don't cost much, we keep ours in a fireproof safe with all our important papers when it's not being used.

Shutterfly and videos on photobucket.

I have had external drives crash and lost pictures. any internet based storage solution is ideal. ALSO, take the time to put them into annual photo book - rockin' the old school hard picture. Do the "auto fill" function on shutterfly once or twice a year and put those digital pics into a format you all can use and enjoy:) We started doing this after the last drive crash and this way if anything happens, I still have the memory on my shelf.

Mine are all on shutterfly.com
I'm pretty happy with that. Lots of options of when and where to print them, books, calendars, gifts etc.

When I got the disc with my wedding photos I immediately loaded them up onto Shutterfly.

It's also pretty awesome in that you can order prints and photobooks. :-)

I put all mine on DVDs. Some I store on Flickr but as long as I have them on DVDS I am ok.
