Hi there! In my first pregnancy, I was incredibly nauseous until about 16 weeks and now I am 9 weeks pregnant with my second child and not feeling much at all. I had been exhausted up until a few days ago (but zero nausea) but now I don't feel tired and so now I am feeling worried that maybe something is wrong. I had a miscarriage before my first baby and had not noticed until 4 weeks later when I went in for an ultrasound except that I had stopped having symptoms and so now I am paranoid about not having symptoms. I have an appointment in a few days so will have confirmation soon but in the meantime, I'd love to know if I can expect to have similar or different symptoms with different pregnancies. Thank you!

So What Happened?

Thanks so much everyone! it was so reassuring to hear from all of you that symptoms can be so different with different pregnancies. I had the ultrasound a couple of days ago and we saw and heard the heartbeat and the dr said that everything is going perfectly! My symptoms continue to confuse me but now I will just find them "interesting" rather than "worrying". thanks again!

Every pregnancy is different. My first pregnancy was easy, I was never sick or tired just felt normal. She was even a quick and easy labor/birth. With my second pregnancy (I am 6 months) I was nauseous for the first trimester then it settled down but I am still really tired and will probably be tired until this little guy is born in March. I had a miscarriage right before this pregnancy and was nervous for the entire first trimester that something was wrong and so far everything has been great!! Good luck!

I was sick for the first 6 months with my first and with my second I was never sick. My pregnancies were different in every way possible and my daughters are very different to this day!

I believe that there are different symptoms with each pregnancy. With my six year old I was contstantly sick all the time. I hate the worst heartburn you can imagine up until about the 81/2 month. I also remember having morning sickness the day before my son was born. I think I lived off the heartburn medication.
With my 4 year old I had no heartburn at all and don't remember being sick near the end of my pregnancy. I've heard some women who stated that they have never had morning sickness at all.

With my first child, I was super hungry and had to pee alot, but never had breast tenderness or nausea. She gave me yeist infections and terrible hearrtburn the WHOLE pregnancy. My 2nd child was so easy! I had no nausea, no heartburn, nothing! I was just hungry all the time. I've also had two miscarriages and with those, I had nausea and sore breasts, so you just never know! I think you're fine. Every pregnancy is so different!

My 2 pregnancies were very different. My first was very easy, very little nausea, and I felt great most of the pregnancy.

My 2nd pregnancy, I had horrible morning sickness throughout. I generally didn't feel great the whole time. I got shooting hip pains that came and went. I was convinced I was having a girl b/c the pregnancy was so different, but nope...I had another boy (and he is completely different than his older brother!). I think I asked more questions with my 2nd pregnancy than my first b/c things felt so different.

I had no symptoms with my first. No sickness, not really tired...nothing. He's 2.5 now and I call him my little "hurricane". :)

My daughter is 4mos old, and I was super sick and tired with her.

Every preg is different. If you never really had symptoms to begin with, then I wouldn't really worry.

Pregnancies are completely different, so try not to worry. You should try to relax and enjoy while you can. I don't think it matters how many pregnancies you have or what the sex of the baby is, each pregnancy is different. My pregnancies were very different from each other and yes, I had one boy and one girl. My close friend has had three pregnancies and all were boys and each of her pregnancies were completely different as well. Stress is not helpful :)

With my first (boy, 22 months) I was extremely sick all the time and had really sore boobs the whole time, I also gained 65 lbs. Im 38 weeks with number 2 and the only sign of pregnancy I had was a positive test. No nausea, no sore boobs, nothing, barely even gained weight with this pregnancy. Turns out its a girl so I think the sex of the baby determines the symptoms of pregnancy.

Don't stress! That's a bad idea!

I was pretty sick for the first TWENTY WEEKS with my first pregnancy. It was AWFUL! I was mildly sick for about 2-3 weeks with the second pregnancy. It was so mild that I was continually in doubt that I was actually pregnant until the first ultrasound. I mean, how could I be?

Both babies were born beautiful and healthy.

Conclusions? Your differing symptoms don't mean anything. ^_^ Congrats on your pregnancy.

I'm currently pregnant for the second time. So far the pregnancies have been different. Last time I had little to no nausea, and this time I had an upset stomach all day for the first five weeks after finding out. My breasts haven't been as tender either. Your baby is fine, so just enjoy having energy and being able to eat!

Every pregnancy is different. You can have the nausea with one and not another. You can have diabetes with one and not another. I would check with your OB if you are really nervous about it as they can tell you for sure what is happening.

First, congrats! Second, stop worrying! With my first pregnancy, I had no morning sickness and was starving all the time (I ended up gaining 50 pounds). I am now 20 weeks pregnant with my second baby and I have been sick the entire time--eating is such a struggle! I have heard from so many people (including my OB) that each pregnancy is completely different. It's better for your baby if you relax and stop worrying. Easier said than done, but good luck :)

My symptoms were as different as night and day. With my son, I had absolutely no morning sickness and felt completely fine the whole pregnancy. With my daughter, I had morning sickness for the whole nine months, and took medication that whole time to help. Don't worry- pregnancies can be very different!
