Difference Between Girls and Boys Sizes?

I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a difference in a 2T for girls and a 2T for boys? I am looking for a pink t-shirt for my toddler boy - I guess that is an anomaly - but all I can find is a lacoste polo for $40. (in boys) I was looking at the Polarn O. Pyret website and they had (under boys) a pink tshirt, but when it listed things that went with it, they showed skirts, so I am not sure if the sizing is generic to gender, or not.

I bought one from JCrew, but when it arrived at my home, it is really more of a Barbie flesh peachy color that isn't really pink. I am trying to match some madras shorts we have.

Thanks!!

What can I do next?

Land's End makes a gender neutral mesh polo and a gender neutral "super tee" both of which have a pink color option. Their little kids' sizes for boys and girls are the same. No need to spend Lacoste type money! They also have a "buy 3, get $ off" type deal on their knits.

Until grade school peer pressure persuaded him to take it underground, my son's favorite color was pink, and he had a Land's End pink polo every year.

Don't know... but maybe you could just buy a white one and dye it yourself to the color you are looking for...

I think they're the same size. You could go to a store and physically compare a boys and a girls size 2T.

I don't recommend dying one because the dye tends to bleed when washed with other things.

From everythying I can tell they are not technically any different size wise. But they typically are cut differently. A girls shirt has shorter cap sleeves and will have a bit of a curve at the waist and flare out at the hips again. I have 2 boys and my youngest is a girl. The cut of all her shirts are totally different than the hand me down shirts from her brothers. A boys shirt is sort of boxier for lack of a word then a girls one.
