Weight Watchers seems to have a success rate of actually keeping the weight off. It teaches you how to eat properly.

Don't eat processed foods, from Jenny Craig or anyone else! It's good that you didn't even think of using caffeine-based diet "aids" that stimulate the central nervous system and are more dangerous than helpful. Eat a lot of fruits & veggies but with protein to keep your energy up. Don't avoid fats or carbs, just make them healthy fats (olive oil, nuts) and healthy carbs (whole wheat, sweet potatoes, brown rice). Have only healthy snacks on hand. Do not drink diet soda thinking it helps. It doesn't. Do not starve yourself - it slows down your metabolism and causes your body to hold on to the weight. Eat a variety of small meals all day. Snack on a dozen almonds or a tablespoon of peanut butter on an apple or a few pieces of celery - don't' skip meals or snacks. Hydrate well. Exercise, both cardio and weights. Do something every day. Wear a pedometer and aim for 10,000 steps every day - park farther from the store, take the stairs, walk the dog, take a walk after dinner, etc. Even if the weight doesn't go down that much, it will redistribute and tone up. Don't go by the scale, go by the mirror! There's no short cut, just sensible balanced activities!

Weight Watchers. More realistic and you're empowered to make choices.

WW, you use your own food and learn to make healthier choices, which is what we all strive to do and is really the bottom line to any diet. Also, if you are on facebook and want some online support, I just started a group for this. Search "be my diet buddy" and join the group (and anyone else that wants to). I hope you find something that works for you!

trial and error until you find what works for you. I could never do Jenny Craig because of the prepackaged food and carbs. Weight Watchers is much more conducive to my lifestyle.

Bottom line, eat less, move more, cut out the bad stuff, control your portions.

Weight Watchers is the best! I am 25 lbs. BELOW my GOAL weight. Love it! Its the best. Have been on WW for 22 years now. I do tons of exercise though. It's not super fast especially when you don't have a ton of weight to lose, but so much better for you than those 'other' diets.

I don't think you need either, really. Eat responsibly and work out maybe once a day or three-four times a week. You can totally do it without the extra expenses with WW or JC. If you really want to speed up the process, get a personal trainer and attend classes at a gym.

I have heard great things about Weight Watchers. Also, if you have an iPhone you can get an app that helps you count your calories. It is incredible when you start counting up what you eat -- I thought I was eating healthy but found out I was totally overeating when I started tracking. You can set your goal in the app and it will tell you how much you can eat, how many calories you have left, your nutritional profile, etc. I use MyFitnessPal and it is amazing. I've lost 12 pounds so far.
