Did Anyone Hear About the Tattooing Business for Kids?

On the way home from work I thought I was hearing an early April Fool's joke--on KS95's Moon and Stacy show they were advertising (you know, in the infomercial method) a tattoo shop that will be opening 2 locations in the Twin Cities for kids. It's supposed to be "painless" but to think they think it's okay to "tattoo your child with something you like before they go and do it themselves with something you don't like" is just insane to me. I emailed the station, but I wonder if I am the only one who thinks tattooing a child is crazy, and can't believe a radio station would stoop so low to get advertising dollars. I won't be listening to that station any more.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

They said on the show that it wasn't a joke, and that the tattoos are permanent and will "grow with your child"!

It is totally an April Fool's Joke!!

The Greg and Melissa Morning Show had a lame joke this year too. Not even halfway convincing.

I agree! It must be joke. If not...think of the liability! I know someone (an adult) who thought it would be cute to get a belly piercing. She wound up with a terrible staph infection and her boyfriend dumped her when her stomach blew up like a beach ball. Now imagine someone's little 13-year-old daughter. UGH.

Yes, even though it's just an April Fools joke, I agree with you in that this is a totally barbaric joke which is not funny in the least. Obviously, the show is also trying to promote the crazy idea because they also think it's crazy and barbaric like any normal parent would feel about the topic, which is why they are mocking it as a joke.

In my opinion, a tatoo on a child is in the same cateroty as ear piercing toddlers and baby's ears. I personally have a problem with it and get annoyed seeing it. In general, society says it's OK to pierce your baby/toddler ears and it would be the same as getting them a tatoo. It's a body changing effect in which causes pain and should be left to a person who is old enough to make the decision for themselves, vs. a parent making the decision for them. I know my opinion is probably not very popular given that many parents pierce their childs ears, but I don't care. To me, it's a barbaric act. Even if a child is young and wants it, a young toddler is not equipt to handle such a decision logically and parents should have enough respect for their baby to let them make that decision for themselves when they are old enough to do so. Again, just my opinion.

We have a good friend that make a great living removing tatoos. It might be the ink that last for and month. If not that is sick.
