My second pregnancy was with twins and I have to say, I didnt' realize it, but in hindsight, I should have! I felt pregnant the moment I peed on the stick and was SOOO tired and SOOO sick.

With my third pregnancy, I knew it was a singleton just because I wasn't feeling symptoms as badly as I did with my twins.

But...who knows...every pregnancy is different.

Either way, good luck!

After miscarrying my first pregnancy, I just had the twin vibe with my second. I dreamed about twins, I met twins, I saw double strollers everywhere. I didn't have overwhelming physical symptoms but somehow I just knew. My first ultrasound at 8 weeks (because of my previous miscarriage) showed two little flickering heartbeats. My twins are 12 years old now, but I'll never forget that first ultrasound!!!

Hi Stephanie-

Before I found out I was pregnant I had a dream that I was pregnant w/ boy/girl twins. I woke up & told my husband that I was pregnant w/ twins and he just kinda laughed it off. Well I was high risk anyway so I found out I was pregnant & went in at 5 weeks for the vaginal ultrasound and sure enough there were two sacks, with dots in both sacks!! Sadly one dot was much bigger then the other so they didn't think the other one was going to make it, and and at the next ultrasound the boy twin didn't make it. But I KNEW it was twins!!!!!!

It's fun to read this for those of us who have had twins. I have two sets of twin siblings (older than myself) but none of my sibs had twins, so didn't expect to have them myself (there are 8 of us kids). Well, my oldest daughter was 4 at the time, I had NOT gone to the doctor yet as I had a 2 years old boy as well and so I felt there was no rush to go to the doctor for them to tell me something I already knew (the symptoms and the home pregnancy test). However, we were driving down the road and my 4 year old daughter said, Mama, you have TWO babies in your tummy and I said, no I don't, and she said, yes, mama, you have two babies in your tummy...so, when I actually went to the doctor at 13 weeks, my doctor said, yes, you are pg (as I already knew) but she said you are far enough along, we can do an U/S here in the office to check the heartbeat. I said, "Sure"...and she said, "P., there's two babies in there"...shocked, but not terribly surprised since my 4 year old already tried to ready us for the occasion! Then w/my 2nd son, I had a dream that he was going to be a boy, and he was going to weigh between 8.2 & 8.3 lbs. So, I told my doctor about my dream, and she said, "Oh, you're not big enough to have a baby that large". (I had gained a total of 14 lbs. at 9+ months. As I was pushing him out, I reminded my doctor about my dream..."remember, I am having a boy and he is going to weigh between 8.2 & 8.3" She still said she'd be VERY surprised! Well, out he came and yes, he weighed 8.2 1/2 lbs. So, I say our intuitions are often very correct...now I am anxious to hear about you on Thursday! :-) P.

Yes, I knew with almost certainty that I was having a boy. It just occured to me one day almost like he told me. At first I had no idea then at about 3 months pregnant, I was in a store looking at boys and girls baby clothes and I thought, "This is such a waste of time to look at girls clothes since I am having a boy". And its not like it was wishful thinking, I had no preference. Keep us updated...I bet you are right!

I consider myself very intuitive, freakishly so. Sometimes I just know things, like who is on the phone before I pick it up... who is going to win a game, if I am going to see someone on a certain day, what my child is going to say before he says it. I feel kinda psychic sometimes. But with my twin pregnancy I had no clue! My dad is a fraternal twin and so were his sisters. Yes, my grandma had 2 sets of twins (back to back might I add!). And when I had my ultrasound, I was shocked as anyone would have been. My boys are identical (dna test), so there is no rhyme or reason (supposedly id twins do NOT run in families, supposedly they are just a random fluke of nature). It was my first pregnancy so I had nothing to compare it to. But I did not gain any extra weight, in fact I gained less. And my doctor said there would be no way he could really tell just by feeling or measuring until like 18 weeks. We found out at 8 weeks. I was so sick, but turns out I was just as sick with my second pregnancy. I know twin mamas who DID know they were having twins by some sort of psychic mommy intuition, good luck! Twins are a wonderful experience, I hope you get what you wish for. Please keep us posted!

I thought I "knew" with our first two kids. I was right BUT I think it's because I truly wanted a girl the first time and a boy the second time. We are pregnant again and will find out Thursday what we're having. I go back and forth with what I think. Probably because we would be very happy with either sex......

In the end, the most important thing is a healthy baby. CONGRATS!

Well, I only have one child so I don't know about the twins thing, but I ABSOLUTELY knew he was a boy. In fact, I knew that before I even took a pregnancy test and knew for sure I was pregnant.

It's funny because I always wanted a girl (my mom is one of three sisters, I'm an only and so are each of my cousins ... all girls... so I've had a lot of experience on daughter side and wanted to experience that relationship on the other side) but I knew right away that I was pregnant with a boy. People would ask if I had any idea what I was having and I'd say "Well, I'm pretty sure it's a boy, but I'd be thrilled if I'm wrong."

If something is telling you you're having twins, I think there might be something to that.

I was compeltely shocked when they told me I was having twins....but as my pregnancy went on, my hormones were outrageous! Good luck....can't wait to see if you are having twins!

I didn't know twins, but my mom guessed I was pregnant with twins. I was complaining that my clothes weren't fitting, and I was only six weeks along. She knew I wasn't one to exaggerate, so she guessed twins because of my size.

I knew I was having twins. Like you, I felt the pregnancy symptoms early and very, very intensely. But more than anything, I just KNEW. I was not at all surprised to see those two little hearts beating on the first U/S. It was weird, I was even certain of having B/G twins right away, months before we had the confirmation via U/S. I really think there is something to mother's intuition.

Hi Stephanie,

I knew right away with my twins, because I was so unbearably sick. I could not do anything. Also, I felt lower abdominal pressure very early on that I had never experienced with my others, and by the time I was 8 weeks along, I could feel the top of my uterus above my pubic bone. I told my doctor, and she said that she didn't think it was twins, but would do an ultrasound anyway, and WHAMMO! There were two in there. My hubby and I started shaking and freaking out like crazy! Hope that helps. Keep us updated!

No twins here, but I knew, like I know my own name, the sex of all 3 of my kids. It wasn't even a feeling, it was plain matter-of-fact knowledge. My ultrasounds went something like this - U/S tech: "Oh! It's a boy!" Me: " Yeah, I know." "Oh! It's a girl!" "Yep, I know." The only shocker was when I found out I was pregnant for the third time - THAT was unexpected. But as soon as I found out I was preggers, I KNEW it was another girl. I had names picked out for all of them without even considering names of the opposite sex. So yeah, I think there's a lot to be said for our own instincts!

I just knew even when the ultrasound only saw one. I ended up having a girl and a boy and it could not have been more perfect. I recall my husband telling me that I shouldn't have my hopes up too high and when the doctor only saw one baby, my husband thought I would be sad, but I told the doctor and my husband that they were wrong. Sure enough by the next ultrasound, my doctor said, "you are right!"

I knew my son was a boy the day I found out I was pregnant, and the same thing with my daughter! If twins run in your family, then you're probably right! Good luck if you are, especially if you already have several kids! It'll be fun to check back and see if you were right! :)

YES I knew I was having a boy. Anytime people tried to tell me " it could be a girl " I argued with them! :)
Anytime I talked about my pregnancy it automatically came out of me to say 'he' or 'him'. Stuff like that.

So when we had the ultrasound and the tech said 'its a male' I was grinning from ear to ear and couldn't help the 'I TOLD YOU SO'.
