I had the same problem with my son and I used Huggies Overnites when he was a baby and now I use the Goodnight pullups, both work really well!
I just got my son sleeping through the night about a month and a half ago. Before when he was waking up during the night I would change him. Now that he is sleeping his diaper always leaks through. I don't want to go in and change him during the night to wake him up because if he wakes up he is up for at least an hour or so. I was just wondering if I could get a few mom's opinions on what diapers don't leak. I currently use Huggies. It is hard for me because I dont have a washer and dryer so I go to my parents house to do laundry once a week and I cant afford to pay to wash my clothes everyday. Also his diapers fit him correctly they aren't too big or too small and he doesn't have any bladder problems or anything like that. Thanks
I decided to try the Huggies Overnight. So far they have not leaked once. I really do appreciate everyone's input and advice. I love this website. I am glad there is a place I can go to get advice from other mom's. Thank you!

I know you found something that worked but I know some people said to try luvs. They are really a better less expensive type of diaper. My son is 3 and I still have to put him in luvs at night or he'll pee through anything else.
With my son we use both cloth and disposable diapers. We use huggies and are the only ones we have found that don't leak excessively for us, but at night we use huggies night time diaper and that really helps with the night time leakage.
First of all, I'm a single mom as well & I commend you on going to school, working full-time and raising your son! Wow! You have your plate full!
I also use Huggies...and I've had a few leaks but not often. My son is sleeping from about 8pm-8am...and those diapers are pretty heavy in the morning! I'm not sure what type they are tho. I buy them in bulk at Sam's Club...but I believe they are the babyfit. I can tell you I've used the Target brand tho and I wouldn't recommend them. Papmers are good, but they're more expensive too. A girlfriend of mine is using the naturalfit by Huggies and she seems to like them.
Hope you find one that works for you!
Try to cut back on that you give your son to drink before bed. Try not letting him have anything 1 hour before bed. have you tried LUVs?
I think I've tried every brand out there and the only diaper I come back to is Luvs. Now if my dau. has too much to drink just b4 bed it can get quite full is she doesn't pee b4 falling asleep and can sometimes cause leakage across the top.
But when a diaper is that full at some point excess has to go somewhere.
So we just be sure that she has whatever drinks at least an hour b4 bed so we can change her once more.
Hi M.,
I had a problem a couple times with my sons diaper leaking and I think the only reason for that was I must not have put his pee pee down and it was pointed up so therefore it came out. He wears pampers and his diapers get very full at times and never leak now. So try to remember to do that and try pampers. My sister had problems to with dipaers that would leak but she would use the cheap ones from Walmart but she now uses pampers as well and has no problems. I know I had to changes his sheets and him in the middle of the night when that happened it wasnt fun, also get waterproof pads I think they are called waterproof lap pads? and put those down in the crib or wherever he sleeps so he lays on those and that will at least protect the sheets and those are washable. I use those just incase. Hope this helps! L.
You know funnily enough I tried every diaper with my little ones. From Huggies to pampers and back again. For my shower with my first everyone had to bring a present and a pack of diapers to enter. So I got every brand and style! LOL! What has always worked the best shocked me! The cheap walmart parent choice ones! I kid you not. They leaked here and there with all the other brands but the walmart one never did. I dislike walmart to the nth degree but i still go in there once a week for my daughters diapers. and we have never had a problem. Maybe it is just my childrens shape or something but they have worked for us for over 4 years now. Never a leak or anything.
Hi,
My daughter is 22 months old. She had the same problem after she started sleeping through the night. I found Huggies Supreme worked best at night. She always woke up with really heavy diaper, but didn't leak. Make sure you get Huggies Supreme.
By the way, about leaky diapers, you should call Huggies' customer care (the number is on the package) and they will send you coupons to compensate your dissatifaction.
Hi M.. Not sure if this will help or not, but with my son #1, Huggies ALWAYS leaked but Pampers and Luvs didn't. With son #2, he leaked in Pampers and Luvs but not Huggies! I'd suggest trying Pampers and seeing if they don't leak. It's frustrating, I know! You might also try some of the overnight diapers. Good luck!
our son wears huggies OVERNIGHTS.. they hold a lot more..
and you might want to make sure 'he's' pointed in the down position..lol also, i know if i try to go up in size too soon, they will leak. maybe try a size down for night time.. so there are no gaps.
good luck..
my son is 10 months old and we had the same problem when he started sleeping through the night i tried huggies, luvs were worse what i found was the cheap wal-mart brand of diapers worked great for my son, the brand is Parent's Choice, its cheap (which is a plus) but they work better than any other diaper i have tried!! Hope that hlps.
hi M. my name is T....i am a mother of three and believe me i've tried every expensive and cheap diaper and so far the one that i like the best is luv's...it seems that those other diapers tend to leak out but luv's works wonders...i use to use pampers but it soaks through...my daughter 10 months also pees alot at night...i try to give her a bottle an hour before that way before she falls asleep.
The only diapers my son doesn't leak out of at night is the Pampers Baby Dry (not the cruisers). They are meant for night time wear. Hope that helps!
M.,
Have you tried the huggies supreme for me they have worked the best. Also you might try monitoring how much your son drinks before bed maybe cutting down alittle bit throughout the evening. Ihad the same problem with my son. Hope this helps. Deb
One thing you'll want to keep track of is how much fluids are you giving him before he goes to bed. I don't allow my kids to drink much after dinner and I haven't had any issues with diapers leaking...and I use the store brand ones! :) Hope this helps!

We had this same problem! I've found that Pampers Baby Dry diapers are great for overnights - George sleeps 11-13 hours a night and these don't leak. Best of luck to you!

I used to use Huggies with my twins and they Always leaked, I hated them. Believe it our not I liked Luvs the best for overnight. It is true what they say about them they are less expensive and they don't leak. Try them...
I've tried a variety of diapers and have had this problem sometimes with my children. Right now I'm using Luv's and haven't had as many soggy mornings. Once when I talked to another woman about this in the diaper aisle at a store, she recommended putting two diapers on the child--the correct size first, then the next larger size. I never did it (it sounded too bulky and too expensive) but if you had diapers left over from a switch to the next larger size, it might be worth a try. I've not ever tried the overnight diapers--you might see if those make a difference. The expense might even out in the long run when you consider the extra laundry. . . Good luck!
My daughter goes about 9-10 hours at night without a diaper change, and she usually wakes up really wet. I use Huggies and it has never been a problem for us. However, I use the Huggies Baby/Natural Shaped fitting ones instead of the regular and they seem to work a lot better than the regulat huggies. Probably because they just fit better! I would say give those a try. From my past experience Luvs and Pampers seem really thin. Good luck!
You don't need to buy more diapers, just go buy diaper doublers. You can get them at the drug store. They are sort of like a big feminine pad that you lay in the diaper and it is disposable and adds stay dry power! :)
Oh and I was a single mom and going to school, and working, keep it up, you can do it!
It has been my experience as a daycare provider for the past 18 years that it is not so important the brand (refering to name brands) but more the size and position. I always find that if someone is leaking, chances are, they are ready to move into the next size. Also, for boys, make sure everything is heading south. Otherwise, they pee straight up and the back part of the diaper never gets wet. Hope this helps!
I had the same problem. Huggies have kind of a gap between the strap and the front of the diaper, just enough to make them leak. I went with pampers and never had the problem again, I loved them they worked great. I hope this helps!

I have 2 boys and I SWARE by Pampers Swadlers/Cruisers. They are THE BEST diapers!!! Plus, they have Pampers Points where you can go online and enter the codes from the Pampers packages and collect free toys/books/games for your son. I hope this helps! --K.
Hi M.:
I loved Huggies when I had babies. But I really think that Luvs worked the very best for not leaking. They're cheaper too. Saving money is always a plus if you ask me. And if they work well, might as well save the $$.
So proud that you're going to school and working full time. Not easy being a single mom and doing all that. I was a single mom for a while when my oldest was young. It wasn't easy at times.
God bless you for working so hard.

I liked pampers the best and even though they might fit a bigger size may not leak as much. When I was a nanny the mom put a special lining inside with the diaper. That helped a little. Sorry I don't have better ideas. Good luck.
Honestly, I never had good luck with Huggies. My youngest is 4 now, so it has been a while. The tabs would rip off the Huggies and I would end up with a wasted diaper. They just never seemed to "fit" right on my kids (average sizes kids) and they did tend to leak. I found Luvs to be best for my son ( now age 8) and Pampers and Luvs did well for my daughter ( now 4) Luvs were priced the best, but I always seemed to have coupons for Pampers.
luvs!!!!! THis was the ONLY band that worked for me! I tried them all even the expensive ones I special ordered form New York City and cloth diapers with a shell... NOPE!!! only loves worked or me and my son!
i always used luvs and they always worked great. give em a try.
Hi M.,
I have 3 boys and with the first tried huggies, but they leaked alot.... So I switched over to Luvs and they cost less and work better. With all my kids I used Luvs and have nothing bad to say about them.... Try Luvs
My hats off to you for going to school and raising your son... Your Awesome
Pampers have always worked great for us. I found that with my oldest son, who is now 26 months, we had to switch to one size up from what he's at in the day for diapers to keep him dry through the night since he slept about 12 hours straight.
I have tried all kinds of diapers, Luvs, off-brand, pampers, and huggies. The best I have found is the new Huggies Natural Fit. They seem to contour very nicely to my daughter and I haven't had any problems since. My daughter had a very full diaper all the time. She seems to go more than most kids and it didn't matter how little I gave her to drink. Good luck!
We had that problem with our son too. I went out and tried a bunch of different diapers in different price ranges, and believe it or not, the Hugies were the worst. We started using the Parent choice brand from Walmart, and they are the one's that work the best for us, White cloud were pretty good too. They are also 1/2 the price and since they don't have any dyes in the matererial, My son doesn't get diaper rash as much as he used too. Hope this helps,
J.
Congrats on the new accomplishment! I also had trouble with Huggies and especially Luvs. Pampers is all we buy now. It still occasionally leaks (he drinks 11 oz. before bed and wakes up later and drinks another 11 oz). But they leak far less frequently than any others we've tried. The cheapest way we've found to buy them is in the big box of 104 (for size 3) at either Target or Walmart for around $19-$20. That lasts us about 2 weeks. Good luck!
I had this same problem with my two youngest. With the last one I found a product called GoodNights, which I think are made by Huggies. I had to get the smallest available at first but this did solve my problem.
i have a child the same age and the only solution i could find was to put her in a bigger diaper and not to give her too much to drink before bed.
I have found that Pampers work better than Huggies.
i had the same problem with cheap diapers. then i went to luvs they don't leak and your son will wake up dry. i have a 16month old daughter and the cheap diapers eiather gave her a rash or they leaked.
Hi M., My husband and I have found that Kirkland Signature diapers from Cosco are the best. Superior quality and it takes A LOT to leak. Hope this helps :)
