how bad is it!! when i get a rash problem with one of mine I wash with soap and water so it cleans any leftover diaper then dr.smith or the triple paste works great!! it starts to clear up faster
Usually when my daughter has diaper rash we use balmex and baby powder. I was wondering if we need to use the baby powder in addition to the balmex. Is it better to use the powder or just use the balmex without the powder.

try Dr Smiths diaper ointment. Its the best and its not real sticky.
I've always just used Boudreaux Butt Paste. It seems to work better than the other diaper cremes for us. I've never used baby powder.
Sometimes when a rash was particularly bad I let them get some air-dry time by letting them run around diaper-less in the back yard. (or crawl around on a blanket if they were younger).
Dr. Smith's
Hands down best diaper cream ever!!!
Other creams would GIVE my son a rash on his sensitive hiney.
Love it worth every penny!!!
when my daughter gets diaper rash we use gold bond baby powder and it works great we use it at every diaper change and after her bath to help keep the area dry
I agree airing out is best. Mixing the two couldn't hurt. I have done that in the past. I use triple paste (target..kinda pricey) but that stuff works!! I also found if I just want to use powder, use cornstarch powder/no fragrance.
The best thing to do for diaper rash is to give it fresh air. First wash area with mild soap and water and pat it dry. If she is asleep let her sleep with no diaper or even put a small fan near her butt. Even when your able, let her wear underwear, diapers do keep the moisture in and it is harder to heal.
Okay you guys - baby powder is on the DIRTY DOZEN - the 12 top of the list toxic products on the market!!! I'm not a big powder person, probably because it's a little messy. When we had our 1st baby, our doctor recommended A & D (vitamin A & D) the ointment, not cream.
We love it. We use it all the time & no diaper rash. If they do get a rash, it clears it up fast w/ out a mess!
Good luck!!
try butt paste, here is a link for coupon too!
