DFW Moms OK ?

We've got rotation about 5-10 miles from here moving away from us, but none here so far. I'm sitting here watching the news hoping for the best!

I just read that Napoli filmed the storm fron the Dugout at Rangers Ballpark. He tweeted it, but I can't get twitter at work.

So far so good in Grand Prairie. We just got hail and rain. I heard it hit at 30 and Lamar. Any word if the BallPark was damaged?

I teach in Arlington, and spent two hours locked down in a hallway with about 700 teenagers. I survived that! ;)

They really behaved well. I think many of them were scared much of the time, and they were happy to be out of class. School let out about 30 minutes late.

I'm so glad that there haven't been any fatalities reported so far, and the injuries sound minor for the most part.

I hope ANYONE in that area comes out of it okay! My husband just called me, he is on the road in his semi, with a delivery that is supposed to go to DFW tonight, on his way there but still 5 hours away (coming from the west). We are hoping by the time he gets there, it will all be over, and nothing else develops where he is driving. This after he ended up driving through the tornado outbreak that happened in TN and AL a month ago!

Im in Arlington and it hit 4 exits up on our side of 20. It was very scary and im still a little shaken but our house is fine (except the fence). It happened so fast! One minute, just a storm, within 10 minutes panic! I looked outside and I've never seen anything like it. There was a huge white, low cloud and behind and all around it, lime green. No joke! I was in shock. I grabbed my 5 yr old and hauled it to my sons school where we were rushed in to lock down. We couldn't see, just hear banging and crashes. Im praying for the families around us, it was truly frantic!

Tornado came right by my area (Green Oaks and 20) and messed up a church an nursing home on Pleasant ridge and on Green Oaks. I had all the daycare kids and my child huddled in the bathroom for quite a while. So glad that there haven't been any reported injuries.

had to spend some time in the stairway/basement at work but now back in the office.....so we now just have storms here!!!!! hope everyone else is ok!

oh goodness, there's been close to a dozen reported to have touched ground! we're okay in denton, hope that those that were hit are uninjured, and that this system winds up soon.... very scary!

We are all fine here, thanks for this post! glad you're all ok too, the storm passed quickly but boy it was POURING!

I work in Forney ISD. An elementary and the surrounding neighborhood got hit. Our school went into lockdown 5 minutes after release but had no damage. Some car windows were busted out in our campus parking lot. No one was hurt, thankfully!

My kids go to Rockwall ISD. They were in lockdown for around 3 hours with delayed release for over an hour and a half.

I livein the area where the first tornado hit, but my home and immediate area are fine. My son was locked down in his school for awhile. I asked him if anything exciting happened and he said "no, not really" - so I asked if he was worried and he said *snort* "no!". LOL... that's pretty much his attitude, and dh's attitude too. I was at work, and it just rained hard there, we didn't even see hail. Hubby is a dispatcherand said his drivers saw quite a bit of damage in different spots.

I just got off the phone with my friend that lives outside Dallas and she said the DFW airport was getting hit. So far all is well in her area but one was coming in from the west. I keep my fingers crossed that it misses her.

My sis and friend in Lewisville said they are okay - no longer know anyone in Arlington that I can think of and still waiting to hear from people in Bedford/Hurst area(s). Saw an article that said Arlington is declared a Local Disaster area and that it was on the ground for 30 min. Just crazy b/c I lived just off of 20/Pioneer for years when I lived in Tx 2yrs ago! Hope all is well and if I find any substatial updates will post to keep info going.

I was alerted when it was about 5 miles SW of me. Grabbed my flashlight and put on my shoes. I put my mom, her 2 dogs and her aide in the bathroom. I was alert and nervous but not scared. We were fine, it stayed west of us about a mile. What bothers me today is while I was walking around closing wood blinds etc.. I texted a friend in Florida. "Tornado is coming I love you!!! I did not call or text any of my family, not even my local family who might have been in the path. I didn't even call my step kids at work to warn them of the storm. Hmmm.......

Thank you! We are in Plano/Allen area. No big damage for me, we did have heavy rain and hail.

My daughter was supposed to be dismissed from school at 2;19 today and drive home (Plano West) and the lockdown occured at 2:15 (Thank Goodness) She just now got home 4:40 safe and sound. Some of my neighbors are just not getting their children from elementary and middle school.

She texted throughout the time while she was hunkered under a table at school.

I hope everyone else is ok. Some areas got huge damage. My hubby is flying home tomorrow so I hope the flights have cleared up by then.

I understand we still have a few warnings but overall, all is ok.

We're doing fine in our area. Right now my area is under a severe thunderstorm watch. Just getting some thunder where I am and some wind. So far so good. Hoping that everyone stays safe throughout all these storms today.

Fine here in THe Colony. After seeing it on it's way, I went ahead and picked up my son early. I'm glad I did b/c they were on lock-down for over an hour after school was supposed to be dismissed.
