Depriving your body of food will do nothing but channel your inner cave girl and cause your metabolism to slow...way...down. You won't lose weight, you'll feel sluggish and exhausted, your body will be deprived of essential carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, vitamins, and minerals. Sure you'll be detoxed...because your body will probably search for anything and everything in your body because it is starving for energy. Your metabolism will also go into a panic thinking "Oh my heavens, woman, when ya gonna feed me again? If you starve me like this, I think I'll go into survival mode and make my body hang on tight to any food you put into me so that whenever you decide to starve me again I'll have something to eat!" As a result, it will get harder and harder to lose any weight.

I am going to e-mail my girl friend and then get back to you. She goes to a place in Chicago for detoxing. You do the detox at home but attend classes, etc. once a week.

I do the ion spa detox a home and it really helps me alot. There are places where you can go have this done but if you are going to regular it is better to buy one for your self. Bought mine on E-bay.

You should never deprive yourself of nutrients. Organic fruits and veggies are the best to help and aid a detox. You would want to limit animal products as much as possible and cut out all processed foods and sugars. There are essential oils, teas and other supplements to help support a detox along with baths. The more live and fresh foods you can eat the better and also you need adequate intake of omega 3, 6 and 9.

Gracious no! There is so much misinformation out there and you need to know about detoxing and why you are doing it. OTC products are junk and may even make you sick. I have a lot of information about detoxing that I can email you if would like it. Just send me your email address and I'll attach it. It isn't like the "old" days. Good thing you posted so you can get informed to make the right choice for you and what you want to accomplish. Most of us don't realize how toxic our bodies are. New born babies come out of the womb with almost 200 known chemicals!! That's an unbelievable amount and we just keep adding to it without knowing what is truly in our water, the air we breathe, the food we eat and the products we put on our bodies.

Here's to your health,

K.
