I can't seem to get Desitin out of my daughter's clothing. She had a "fun day with the powder and Desitin" all while wearing a brand new outfit! I tried Spray N Wash, Soaking it overnight, ...It just doesn't seem to come out.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

What can I do next?

hey P.....i can not stress it enough....desitin and a&d go in the garbage!! they are too sticky and messy anyways, try johnson & johnson's diaper rash cream in the baby blue tube or try aveeno soothing diaper rash cream in the beigh tube. i've used both of these products and my daughter never had a diaper rash....good luck!

We soak all our daughter's major stains in oxiclean before washing them. It has gotten everything out so far!

Good luck!

If it has been put in the dryer it may have set already - but I find that oily stains usually come out with hand dishwashing soap (Dawn) etc.

Again Dawn the blue kind or original and very hot water. Very hot!

I don't know about Desitin, but we have had problems with regular ointment because of the oil residue it leaves. Soaking it in dish soap and water helps because the dish soap soaks up the oil. I saw this suggestion in a magazine and it works! I think I actually put the dish soap directly onto the stain.

Try washing in hot water. I have not had the same experience with Desitin, but that is how I get oil based stains out and I usually have success. Of course, it may fade the clothing a bit and you have to wash them alone or with like colors. But if you were going to throw them out, what do you have to loose?

Try putting shampoo on the stains. That will remove greasy stains.

I haven't had luck with Spray n Wash either. I find that when I used Shout Advanced I have better luck. If it didn't come out the first ime, I saw that it usually improved, so I would spray and wash again. Good luck!

Try Lestoil. You can find it in the grocery store. My MIL uses it on everything and it works like a charm!!! It takes out OLD oil stains too!
It has a funky smell but some fabric softener and it'll be just fine. Hope it works!!
