I'm both :) Feel free to send me a message...We're in the northern part of the city, but I've lived in Aurora too.
I'd like to ask a few questions about Denver, from a mom's point of view instead of a real estate agent's.....husband is looking at maybe taking a job there.
I think I've gotten the information I needed to reassure me......I can check on schools, but I guess it wouldn't be a too-scary move if we make it. Thanks for the responses and emails. Totally appreciate them!

Hi A., I was born and raised in Colorado.......lived there for 27 years, what do you want to know bout it? Its a beautiful sate with so much to do, id go back in a heartbeat!!!

I only lived in Denver for 9 months, but fell absolutely in love with it. At the time my son was 4 years old. There was so much to do with him. We love sports and you have all the sports franchises, you have a really nice downtown/financial district, the suburbs are nice, the commutes aren't good, but not like LA or Boston. The zoo and park were gorgeous. My son and I went all the time. We went skiing and tubing. The cost of living might be higher than where you live now, but nominally. Not like where I live, ugh!
We lived in a cute neighborhood in the city limits, but not downtown. There were small neighborhood businesses and restaurants that we could walk to. I'm sure the schools are mixed, but you can get a good feel for the school by going to greatschools.net. Some of the parent comments are outdated, but the State Testing scores (which determine the number grade) are all current. I had my son enrolled in a bi-lingual charter school around the corner from my house.
Even when it snows, I did not find that it was that bad. Usually it would storm and drop a ton of snow, but then the sun would be shining not too long after that. Unlike the Northwest and Northeast where the clouds stick around forever...
I would move back in a heartbeat, if I could get a job there. Good luck to you and your family.

I lived in Denver for 13 years - had all 3 of my kids there. It was awesome and I miss it everyday! Lucky you to have the opportunity to maybe live there...We moved from there less than a year ago, so my memory's pretty fresh. You can send me a message if there's any specific info you need about neighborhoods or schools.
What do you want to know?
