Dental Sealants - Winter Park,FL

Do you know anything about dental sealants?? My hygenist has been trying to get me to agree to putting them on my kids' permanent teeth, but at $45 each I kept saying no thanks. Our insurance has changed and now they are covered at 100%!! So I figure I have nothing to lose. They are supposed to last 3-5 years on average, and they seal up the tops of the molars to prevent plaque and tooth decay down in those natural grooves. I'm curious if there are any drawbacks or reasons why I should give them a second glance before going for it.

What can I do next?

After I got four cavaties all at once, the dentist game me sealants. Didn't have any afterwards and would recommend them.

I got them put on also after getting a few cavities and haven't had a cavity in years since then. If it's at no cost to you, I say go for it!

I think sealants are great! I had them when I was younger and I never had a cavity (until I was pregnant at the age of 29!). I would definitely recommend them, especially if your insurance covers them!

My husband has them and they have lasted over 5 years...the dentist that he saw recently commented on how good they held up and how much they help. (he hadn't been to a dentist in 5 years) I say if they are covered 100% go for it!
