I am exactly opposite of Rachel D. I have had no issues with Mirena whatsoever. I WISH I had weight loss associated with it and a decreased appetite. Right now I am eating poofy cheetos and lindor chocolates!

I'm with Laura... I wish I had weight loss and a decreased appetite! ha!
But seriously, it has worked wonderfully for me, but I have had a few friends who have had serious side effects, including major bleeding and rushing to the hospital to have it removed. If it's not feeling right for you, I would say take it out immediately. Good luck.

I wish! I'm hoping I'll lose so weight now that I have mine out (tubes tied a month ago). I did have some impressive mood swings while I had my Mirena.

I've had Mirena for 5 years and while I DID experience those symptoms for a time, I was going through a divorce at the time. Since I still have the IUD and the symptoms went away with therapy and getting to a less stressful place in my life, I don't think they had anything to do with the device.

Talk to your doctor... if the IUD is causing it, you should get it out right away. If it's not the IUD, you should get to the bottom of it anyway. It's too easy to let depression and anxiety get away from us because we think we can wait it out. Being sad for no reason is no fun. Get some help and do whatever you need to to get back to being yourself.

I have had a great experience with Mirena. No periods at all, no pain etc. I have noticed some increased anxiety, but I had it before and meds help. I never heard or anyone having weight loss or decreased appetite though. Perhaps those things are not from the IUD and something else. Check out what it says for side effects that is new to me... good luck.

Mirena is AWFUL.

You'll feel 'normal' less than a week after having it removed :)
