If she were just hot, it wouldn't be a big deal. But a low grade fever needs to be addressed by her doc. Could be a low grade strep infection. She might just "run hot" but the fever bothers me.
My DD's legs, especially her thighs, get hot to the touch when she is sleeping at night, and she is not covered with too many blankets. Her forehead is nowhere as nearly as hot. Sometimes she has a low grade fever at the time, and sometimes not. She has congestion and a cough currently as well, if you think that has anything to do with it, though her legs feel hot even when she doesn't have other symptoms. What on earth do you think this is?
Well, although the doc didn't take an x-ray to confirm it, he gave DD an antibiotic for pneumonia. This year and illnesses is something else! Keep in good health yourselves! And thanks.
Thank you! I've been worried about strep, too. She's already had the swab, but it was negative. I'll take her tomorrow to get the culture taken.
Still, I think she has a hot body. I'm always cold! So weird to me!

The way you've written this makes me think this is all the time, not just now. Is that right? If so, my kids and my husband are all little furnaces when they sleep, and when the kids were toddlers, they both would wake up sweaty. This was their norm.
Depending on her system, this may be normal, but the fever is the red flag.....talk to her Dr., determine if she needs to be seen and have her tested for strep
The intermittent low grade fever is what bothers me most here. You know what her normal temp is, so it's not like an elevated temp is her norm. I'd be worried, like Beenthere, that this is a strep infection.
Just to let you know, my kids have had strep without a high fever. And the last one was my college boy who had a slight sore throat and then a queasy stomach on and off. The first test came up negative (not a culture). The second one was two weeks later and came up positive, with no more sore throat. We were very grateful to have such a smart doctor pay attention to his intermittent symptoms.
Dawn
When I was younger, I had hot feet when I was sleeping.
Your body relaxes and it's natural to lose body heat as you sleep.
Your circulation alters to a resting pattern and blood flows closer to your surfaces - where the heat is lost.
That's why we need blankets.
My body just happened to like losing the heat through my feet.
Now that I'm older it's not as intense as it use to be.
But my son - yep - he has totally toasty feet when sleeping just like I use to!
I put off heat big time at night especially mid section my legs n butt are always super hot. My daughter is a sweater. She doesn't have a lot of blankets but just gets hot n sweats.
