Daycare Gift Dilemma

I have a bit of a dilemma. My DD has been in the same 4 year old classroom since March, with the same 5 teachers, and I had planned their christmas gifts already ($10 Gift cards to Target each). Today she moved up to the 5 year old class for the rest of the year until she starts Kindergarten in the fall of 2008. Now she has 5 new teachers. Who do I get gifts for? On one hand her last 5 teachers have been with her for months, but her new teachers will be with her for the next several months. I just don't know what to do, and I can't afford to buy for both sets of teachers.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

What can I do next?

I agree with Amy. Give the gift cards to the previous teachers and some kind of acknowledgment gift to the new ones. Cookies, fudge, etc... I'm sure they will appreciate anything that your daughter gives to them.

Happy Holidays.

Hi!
I have been teaching preschool for 12 years now. I totally agree with the ladies who have posted responses so far. It is very kind of you to think of the new teachers and they will greatly appreciate that. Whatever you can afford to do, do. If you can't afford to do all 5 gift cards, you could always give some of them gifts at Valentine's day. Teachers do understand those things. 5 gifts is a lot to buy for. Anything you do will be appreciated by the teachers.
Have a great holiday.

I would go ahead and give the previous teachers the gift cards and make a cookies for the new teachers(put them on a colored plate with cello around it and have your daughter make them cards too with glitter/painting etc. I think people especially teachers LOVE the handmade things. You could even have her make ornaments for the new ones too!

I agree with Amy. I would definitely give figst to the previous teachers, then do something simple for the new teachers like cookies or have your daughter make cards to show them you appreciate what they will be doing.

I am kind of in the same boat with my daughter, she just moved up to the next classroom, but will probably be in there until Christmas next year...so I will get them something next year. That is always tough.

Good luck

Tough. I would plan to give her old teachers te $10 gift cards and then do some baked goods for the new teachers. Good luck!
