For one child, it tends to be nannies are most expensive, a child care center next and home child care is less expensive. With multiple children, a nanny could be a less expensive option. As has been said, you generally get what you pay for. There are pros and cons to it all though, so you need to figure out what is best for your family. Home child cares around here (not being far from Naperville) ranges from $125-$250/week for full time. But then the type of care/setup structure ranges SOO much as well so you really don't want to base it on price alone of course. Most important is finding care you can fully trust to be a support in raising your child. I was a nanny before I had kids, I worked in a center before my second was born and now I've been a home child care provider for 4.5 years now that I have 2 children of my own so I've been on the staff side of all of them, so if you want to discuss pros and cons of each, I'd be happy to. Part time is also more expensive per day than full time per day so prices REALLY depend on what you are looking for. The range you are asking about could be anywhere from $20 to over $100 per day depending on what you are considering. Best wishes to you as the information can be a little overwhealming at first. Feel free to contact me if you want to talk more specific options, resources, or such in figuring it all out.
