Hi, I have six children ages-14, 13, 11, 10, 8 and 6, three boys and three girls. I do not think we can be paranoid when it comes to our kids. If Mom feels there is something wrong there is usually something wrong. When my youngest boy (the 8 year old) was 6 he had some symptoms that at first seemed to be a virus. He was tested for mono, and a complete blood count was run. He continued to get worse and we took him to the E.R. one evening. One look at him and they had him in a bed and were starting I.V.'s. He is a type one diabetic and his sugar count was 990! Should have been no higher then 120. They could not believe he was not in a coma, he was barely functioning, but he was still awake. It wasn't until later that they told us another 2 hours and they may not have been able to save him.
Okay, I know I have gone on and on, but all of that to say don't let it go. Find out what is wrong and I don't mean to try and scare you but with an elevated white cell count and fevers for no apparent reason the first test I would have them run is one to check for Leukemia. As I said I don't mean to scare you, but I know fevers and elevated white cell count are the first symptoms of Leukemia. I personally would want to find out what is going on in order to be able to do something about it. For me not knowing would be worse then knowing, no matter how bad it might be.
Good luck and God bless!
I will say a prayer for you and your daughter. In fact I will pray right now.
Dear Lord,
I just want to lift S. and her daughter up to You right now. I ask that You would give S. and her husband the wisdom to know what to do and the courage to make the Dr.'s find out what is going on with their little girl. I know Dr.s sometimes think we mothers are paranoid and just look for something to be wrong, but that is very seldom true. I just ask that You would guide the Dr. and give him wisdom and a determination to find out what is going on and help this little girl. Father I also ask that You would give this family a peace that no matter what they have to deal with they will be able to do so. In Jesus name, Amen
