Have you thought about doing a home daycare? I had a friend who was a single mom and between doing home daycare and selling stuff on ebay, she did quite well.
Hello, I have been a single mother for almost all of my daughters life and now daddy is coming back into the picture. We both work full-time and still we are just making it. My daughter is ill and gets sent home from school all the time. My question is how can I stay home part time and still find a way to make money to cover bills. Also, she doesn't qualify for any type and insurance and or SSI. Which we need dearly. If I quit my job and stayed home with her she would be able to get those things, but I need a way for the income to still keep coming in without having to sell stuff on the computer.

Have you considered doing something like a stay at home business where you do parties or something of that sort? I am a Discovery Toys consultant (not very prominent at this time) but still keep it because I love the toys. But there are those things out there that you could work around your schedule and keep her at home. If interested in Discovery Toys please let me know I can hook you up.
You could possibly do what I am starting. I will be starting with Pampered Chef as soon as I get my tax return. With Pampered Chef, you can be home with your daughter as needed during the day and just teach women how to simplify their kitchens in the evenings. I am really excited for this opportunity becuase I can still stay home with my children and also earn the income I need to pay the bills. If you would likr to host a show to see what is involved, I would love to set up with one. Let me know.
My daughter (from kindergarten until 10th grade) was absent from school more than she was present; I constantly had her to doctor after doctor. If this doesn't apply to you, please forgive me!
First of all, I am assuming there is really a medical reason for her being sent home time after time (no offense...just hear my story!) After YEARS of doctor visits (you should see my bills) I discovered that I was actually enabeling my daughter to continue to believe she needed to stay home for every little ache and pain. I couldn't believe she was "scamming" me, and I certainly didn't want anybody else to think she would do that, either! I finally got family therapy and discovered I was "helping" her to stay home by feeling sorry for her. I didn't think she could handle having to go to school with an upset tummy or a headache! (Like most people have to do when they have jobs they need to keep.) After I came to this realization, I started "depriving" her of things she liked to do (if she was sick during the day and "couldn" attend school, she wasn't allowed do fun things after school because she "needed to recuperate at night;" if she just didn't want to go to school, she was grounded for making an inappropriate decision. She immediately started to attend and STAY in school all day! She was now motivated enough to actually overcome something that used to keep her at home...an ability that will serve well when she goes out on her own and must hold down a job! (Also, consider that she might be feeling sick because she no longer has you to herself anymore, since Dad is again in the picture, competing for your attention!)
I hope this has been helpful and hasn't been offensive! Please let me know how things are going....I can only share my experiences that have gotten results.
Were you turned down for ssi? I have heard that the first time they turn most down and you need to re-apply. I can tell you this, I have 2 kids with cystic fibrosis and I stay home with them. We get medicaid and ssi for both of them. I could never leave them in a daycare... they require too much medical attention. My husband has a fairly good job for the govt and we still qualify, so keep trying :)
Good luck!
a great opportunity is at www.green4myfamily.com check them out for yourself. Good Luck to you and God Bless

Hi D.,
If you would like to just try out doing home parties, but without shelling out a bunch of money to get started, please go to my site at www.partylite.biz/votiveconfidence. Unlike almost every other home party company out there, PartyLite gives you the opportunity to try it out for FREE, and if you don't care for it, you get to keep your kit, the money you've made so far and walk away. You also don't have to worry about making deliveries, keeping inventory to sell others, and again, no investment! Not to mention, who doesn't love candles?
I hope you'll at least go to my website and look it over.
Thanks again,
A.
There is a great plan in the state of FL for insurance that is very low cost it is called Kid Care www.floridakidcare.org the doctor visits are very minimal.
The situation with the work. Have you thought about taking a job at a daycare? The homedaycare sounds like a great idea too. Another idea would be to work a different shift then your husband. I know that this may inconvience your relationship but this way one of you would always be available to be there for your daugter.
