Hi K.,
Is she on cow's milk? If she is the 16 month old maybe take away the milk. You can slowly put her on soy in about a week.
My little one keeps coughing. At times a big glob of mucus comes out. She isn't throwing up food with it. No fever or runny nose. Is she teething or allergies? She's been very clingy, especially today. What do I do?

It could be asthma--my daughter's manifested this way starting at age 3. She could be clingy b/c she is having difficulty breathing--outward wheezing begins when the lungs are already 75% blocked. Have it checked out ASAP.
Go to the doctor, coughs can dangerous quite quickly in little ones.
It could just be a cold, but in my case, my daughter had "only a cough" and it was pneumonia.
I would call the pediatrician. It could be an allergy thing, but you never know. Too many scary flu stories on the tv not to be extra sure.
Bring her to the doctor.
It could be pneumonia.
My daughter's allergist told me that a persistent cough is a sign of asthma.
Hi K.,
I would think allergies but it seems that the cough is bothering her if she is clinging to you. I would take her to the dr. to be on the safe side. You just never know these days. She could have a sinus problem if she is coughing up mucus. Is it yellow or green? If either I would take her to the dr. Good luck

Hi K.,
My 11 month old has the same thing. In my family we all suffer from seasonal allergies, even my 4yr old get the cough with no other symptoms. I took my baby to the doctor to make sure, and sure enough it is just the way his body responds to the allergies. The outcome was a prescription for Zyrtec. If you are in doubt please take your baby to the doctor, just to make sure.
It could be allergies and/or asthma symptoms or a sign of reflux (they don't have to throw up when they have reflux). If it has been for more than a couple days take her to her doctor. Good luck.
