My husband and I are heading to Fort Worth next weekend to find a house... It's the first time since our baby was born in October that we'll have a weekend alone! (exciting AND scary!)... SO... I definitely would LOVE some suggestions on nice, laid back, romantic dining for the two of us... We like all kinds of food... We prefer places that have dim lighting and good drinks! :)

Thanks in advance for your help... I can tell from my previous questions Texans are extremely helpful and friendly people! We're super excited about moving there!

So What Happened?

We ended up having an awesome weekend. Texas is amazing! The people are friendly, there is tons of stuff to do... We're both super excited to move there... We ended up going to Joe T's... and you weren't kidding, DELISH! Thank you so much for all of your responses!

Oh my where does one start?! for the ambiance you are looking for Del Friscos, Reata or Eddie V's, but as others pointed out, Joe T's is great, Blue Sushi, Texas de Brazil or even Yucatan Taco Stand (not really a stand). Silver Fox or Michaels is also good.
I highy recommend Eddie V's though. It is more of a "seafood" place, but they have good steak as well. Sides are served seperate from your plate so you can share - GREAT bar, super drinks, low-key live music - just a great overall experience.
Have fun!!

Lili's on Magnolia or Cat City Grill (also on Magnolia). Excellent food, and be sure to try the Gorgonzola Fries.

I agree with Bethany! The Reata is great, and Joe T. Garcia's is fabulous! Another one that is worth checking out is Del Frisco's. We're going there on Saturday night for our 17th anniversary. :)

I "highly" reccommend Sardines. It has been voted FTW's most romantic many many times over the years. They are located on University just north of 7th. They have very dim lighting(candlelight tables)...Live Jazz music and a full bar. The food is very very authentic italian not like olive garden. My husband and I go there every year around our anniversary. Love it! Downtown is great too, but most of those places are alot brighter lighting and little more noisy. I would go to Sardines for Dinner then head downtown or to Montgomery Ward Buliding for after dinner fun!

Where in Fort Worth are you headed? I recommend Sundance Square - there is so much to do there (tons of restaurants, bars, live music, carriage rides, etc). Also, how much are you wanting to spend? Del Friscos and Reata are very nice with good food but a little pricey for me (look at their online menu and see what you think) plus, you'll need reservations. I have not been impressed with Yucatan Taco Stand - definitely not romantic. Check out Sundance Square online to see a list of all the restaurants, their menus, etc. They have mexican food, steaks, sushi, pizza, fondue ... you name it! Mi Concina and Cabo Grande have wonderful coconut mojitos - like a beach vacation in a glass! you really can't go wrong with any of the restaurants in Sundance Square ... Have fun!

Steaks - Lonesome Dove, Eddie V.'s, or Bonnell's or Tillman's. Sushi - Blue Sushi or Sushi Axiom. Mexican Food - Uncle Julio's or Joe T.'s (great patio). Italian food - Nona Tata off Magnolia.

Soooo many great choices.
