Hello ladies. I've noticed something about my 17 month old daughter over the past few days that I thought I'd mention to see if anyone might have something to offer. A few days ago I noticed that she has dark circles under her eyes. I actually thought she had a black eye when I first noticed. She goes to bed at 8:00 every night and wakes up at 7:00 with a nap anywhere between an hour and two hours a day so I can't imagine that she is just tired. Someone mentioned to me that it could be a lack of iron, but from what I have looked at on-line it doesn't appear that could be the issue either. I do plan on calling her doctor to ask her, but I thought I would ask all of you as well.

It may be allergies. My son has been getting dark circles since he was about the same age. He not a good sleeper so we just assumed it was from lack of sleep. At a well child visit his doctor asked about the eyes and decided to test him and sure enough he has allergies to dust, mold, and a whole host of animal hairs. It's worth checking up on. He even sleeps better now that he takes an allergy med. daily.
It can be from allergys my daughter gets them when I asked her doctor at the beging of last summer on one of our vists to get her zyrtec refilled before a trip. She also gets hives from her allergys to. It is worth asking your doctor about.
this could be a sign of allergies..just let her pediatrician know and see what he/she says! best of luck! M.
