My Dr. told me that it can be caused by a dairy allergy (specifically milk). Tthe way it is processed can cause people to have a low grade allergy to it causing dark circles. I cut it out and now when I drink and sleep I don't have circles.
do any of you mamas have any remedies for dark circles under your eyes other than sleep and lots of water?

Do you have allergies? My youngest and I both have horrible seasonal allergies and he also tends to get sinus infections. Anytime my allergies are bothering me I will have dark circles under my eyes same with him.
A daily antihistamine and Mary Kay's Targeted Eye Action Revitalizer. The circles are typically genetic so a lot of times there is little you can do but I do what I think helps me.
Eat a healty, balanced diet, check out the possibility for allergies as others have said. Sleep and drink water ;)
a friend of mine has this issue and she found one by Mary Kay that she LOVES!! not sure what it is called but I'm sure any MK rep can help you find it or even sample it for you. if you don't have a MK person let me knwo I know several!
The product I market improves circulation...that may help!
Message me if you'd like more info.
Blessings,

Unfort dark circles that persist are genetic, extra sleep doesn't help. I read that vitamin K can help. The newest treatment is actually using fillers like Juvederm to plump up that area. Haven't tried it yet.
My Dr. calls it allergy shiners. Don't know if you can tell what the allergy is by the look of them but they can be food or airborne allergies. I get them too. Cranial sacral therapy is good to break up the congestion and get it cleared up as well as looking for supplementation to boost your immune system. It would also be helpful to find out your food allergens and remove them from your diet. A blood test is a good way to test because it can test for a large # of foods.
I don't get circles, but I did get a black eye one time (beautiful!) and Origins concealers, combined with their silk-screen powder did a great job of covering up the color.
Sunglasses? Ha! Really though, I'm a make-up artist and aside from water and sleep, a nice, smooth yellow based under eye cream should help. I don't have a brand preference, I've never personally tried them, but you can see reviews here:

There are some firming creams that can help too, but again, I can't vouvh for the effectiveness of any ones.
Just be sure you apply it with your ring finger it is the 'weakest' of all of your fingers, so less chance of you causing physically aging that way.
Cold tea bags, crushed mint leaves and cucumber slices really help too... also eating lots of iron, vitamin c and e. Here are more natural remedies to help the puffiness, there are great ideas in the comments section as well:

yeah I get dark circles and I have a few things that seem to help. First I sometimes use the Olay Definity eye illuminator it just brightens up the eye and gives it a pearly glow. But I use this more on days that my circles are not that bad or I'm not wearing makeup....like at the pool but don't want to go out with dark circles. i really like the Garnier Skin Renew anit-puff eye roller. This I use at night and in the mornings before I put on make up. It is cold going on so it helps with any puff and it lightens up the darkness. So after that dries I put on under eye make up to cover it good. I have found that my favorite is Neutrogena brightening eye perfector. It stays on all day and really covers up the dark circles.
You need an under-eye concealer with a pink tint. Sephora has one, as does Benefit. That's the only thing I've ever found that really works.
