The Chicago Moving Company has had creative movement classes for young children for years. They keep residence at Hamlin Park. http://www.chicagomovingcompany.org/classes.html
I have a 21 month young daughter who loves to dance. Every time she hears music she starts to dance. If "Dancing with the stars" or "So you think you can dance" happens to be on she will try to dance like them. It is too funny. I took her to the Dr’s the other day and she started dancing for the staff. She doesn’t have a shy bone in her body. My question is can anybody recommend a dancing school for my almost 2 year young daughter? I forgot to mention that she also likes to sing while playing with her toys but most of all dances to any kind of music. : )

In Chicago, "All About Dance" is great and has classes for all ages.
Old Town School of Folk Music has a lot of child-friendly, low-key music and dance oriented classes and they are located in Lincoln Park and near Lincoln Square.

Hi, I live in Elmwood Park and sent my 3 year old daughter to Turning Point Dance Studio. It's on Conti parkway in the circle between Diversey and Grand in Elmwood park. They have dance classes for all ages. My daughter just loves it. Hope you find this helpful.
Hi,
Dancing is fun but 21 months is too young for actual dancing in a structures situation. A movement to music situation would probably more appropriate and satisfying. Good luck.

DeMaira Dance Studios has a new location: 4705 W Lawrence ###-###-####.
My daughter loved dance with Kathy Demaira from the age of 5 to 16.
Call Kathy or stop in to meet her.
My daughter was the same way. Anything with music and dancing made her happy. We took ballet classes (mommy and tot) thru the Chicago Park District. Its a lot of fun, and very inexpensive. The classes start at 2 yrs old. You can also try Fairytale Ballet, but they are much, much, much more expensive.
