Most Rihanna songs are too sexy and suggestive for young girls that age, 6 or 7, but I don't know all of her songs. What song is it? I would have to listen to the lyrics to decide if its appropriate or not.
a parent sponsored variety show at our dance school brought about the forming of the group that my daughter is in. they are doing a jazz routine and want to dance to a rihanna song but i think that it is too adult for them. i dont like rihanna and i think her songs are a bit too sexy in nature for children. i suggested maybe a kelly clarkson song. it needs to be something top fortyish apparently. would you be against rihanna too?
why the shock at a real question? i asked a lot of real questions yesterday didnt i?

Why would the song matter when your asking about permanent make up and eyelashes on a 6 year old. I'm onto your game.
I'm just wondering.... do you know how to press down the "shift" key to make a capital letter?
I wouldn't be against any singer provided the song selected is appropriate. If appropriate, it doesn't really matter who the singer is.
How about ditching the jazz routine and just doing something on stripper poles? If you get the perm make up tattooed before hand it'll give you some extra time to have your daughter nail the routine because she won't be wasting time putting on make up.
I would like Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jeppsen, or any of the Disney Channel kids. Have fun!
Yes, I would be against Rihanna.
Kelly Clarkson's 'Stronger'
Taylor Swift - Never Getting Back Together
Don't you think that this might be too hard on your 6 year old, considering the pills she has to look down and swallow because of her depression? (That is what you answered to someone about how to swallow a pill.) Perhaps you need to re-think your daughter being in this enviroment overall with her depression.
This is a normal question :) My daughter is practicing a song to Call me Maybe and she also likes Katy Perry's Wide Awake.
Don't know Rhianna....but if you thinks it's too sexy/adult, don't agree to it.
I guess "Broadway Baby" is out of the question? Anything currently on the radio is probably inappropriate for a girl under 30. this looked cute:

This is an old song, but when I was a kid, the 6-7 year olds did a dance to this song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riLUyc5Fgt4
As for Rhianna, I don't know her music but if it doesn't have bad words in it and it makes the girls feel good about themselves then I don't have a problem with it.
A friend's little girl loves Lady Gaga. I watcher her video's on youtube and was really shocked. But her daughter doesn't watch the videos at all. So she says the music makes her feel good about herself so the mom lets her listen to it. I just can't do it.
If you have a serious problem with the song I suggest you show the teacher your displeasure by deciding to not let her do the dance. If I didn't like the dance or the music I would certainly decide to not let my child/grandchild be part of it.
My daughters are in dance as well and they are 7 and 9, if they were to dance to Rihanna I wouldn't be fond of that either. Some of her older songs aren't that bad, but her newer ones are not that great. Especially if you watch the videos. Maybe the Umbrella song, my kids did like that song.
