Damaged Tooth?

My 2 year old tried to chase after Daddy last night through the kitchen where there is ceramic tile...with socks...so you can only imagine the disaster this caused. She, of course, fell flat on her face and got the bloodiest fat lip I've ever seen. Well, later in the night as we all were watching tv in the bed, Josh noticed that her tooth was a little loose. Needless to say I had nightmares all night thinking her tooth was going to fall out and her choke on it, etc., etc.. (She woke up just fine. Haha!) But, she won't let me look at her mouth. I know her lip is really sore and I think her top gum is too but I just worry about it. I know there isn't anything the dentist could do so do you think it'd be a waste of time taking her?

What can I do next?

When my daighter's teeth came in one of her top front teeth was gray and then it broke off. The dentist said there was nothing to do unless it became absessed (it eventually did). We took her to the pediatric dentist (a wonderful guy!) and they pulled her tooth while she was under general ansthesia. She is only 4 and has a toothless grin, but all is well.

Just keep an eye on it. The good thing about teeth is that they can fix almost anything now. Good luck!

Usually the tooth will tighten back up, try checking it when she's asleep, but if it's still has movement I would take her in to the dentist.

This same thing happened to my friends little girl. They took her to the Dr. there wasn't anything the Dr. could do, but they did tell her it may have damanaged her permanent tooth. Well she is now seven and her permanent tooth was damanaged. It came in orange where the enamil was missing. She has had it repaired with porcilin.

When my oldest was 3 he did the same thing. Grandpa is a dentist and said not to worry unless a blister forms there (I think, this was 2 years ago). My son's tooth has since come out and the permanent tooth underneath is completely healthy and normal.
