I need some help ladies. I recently got a perm, well now, I my hair is so damaged and I wish i would have never have done it!
I dont know if i should try and straighten it myself to help save $$ or if I should go in and have it professionally done along with a deep conditioning hair therapy? What do you all suggest?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for the awesome advice! I did call the salon where i got the perm and they have scheduled me in for a deep conditioning treatment. I got the perm about 6 weeks ago, so i had given it plenty of time to relax and no i did not shampoo or condition my hair for two days! which was really awful, because my scalp is very oily and my hair smelled awful, so i know it did not ruin it. I just dont like it. i thought i would like it, but i dont. so now my goal is to get it to come out by itself with out putting more chemical on there. thanks again.

Hi there.. I would not do anymore chemical treatments to your hair. You should definetly get some type of deep conditioning treatment!! And also a great shampoo and conditioner for home. I am a stylist and live and swear by AVEDA!! They have several great lines, depending on your hair type/texture! Either the Dry Remedy, or Damage Remedy!! Look into them, bc like I said they are fantastic! Go to your stylist, if she cares about you as a client and your hair, she should want to and be able to help you with your hair and its condition!
Good luck to you! Let me know if you have any more questions!!

I LOVE Aussie's 3 minute miracle conditioner. I had really damaged hair after a bleaching adventure (had a b/f forbid me to do it, so of course I had to) and ever since then I use the 3 minute miracle whenever my hair gets over-chemicaled. I perm and color and it makes my hair feel super soft and awesome.

Maybe a hot oil treatment?

Professionally deep condition treatment and trim to get the dry ends off. The hot oil trtmnt looks ok at first but all it's doing is coating the hair shaft with wax, it's not doing anything good and long term for your hair so with the oil you'd have to keep doing it, and would be more cost effective to go with cut and d.c.

www.crowdcut.com has the Brazilian Blowout as one of the deals today - at half price it's still $125 but it sounds like it might be good for your hair. Maybe call a salon and ask?

I would definitely rely on the professionals and not try to do anything yourself at home. The only thing you could do at home is some major conditioning. Sorry your perm didn't turn out the way you planned.

I'd check with the salon manager and see if they can help. I had a perm once that badly fried my hair and the salon manager gave me a big discount on some deep conditioning treatments. It wasn't really their fault it happened but it made me feel they valued me as a customer since I was so unhappy and it did help my hair.

How long ago did you have the perm done. You are not supposed to condition your hair for a few days after a perm service because it will relax the curls. If you just got it done I would try applying a rea;ly good heavy conditioner a 2x's a day and comb thru it with a wide tooth comb to help straighten out the curl. It will also help with the damage. If you try to chemically straighten it , it will cause more damage. The hot oil treatment my be good right now because the over processing will casue the hair to be really dry. Also a reconstructor may help. Be gentle, it's probablly really fragile right now. Good luck. I know it sucks..... I've been there before. :)

How about a Brazilian Blowout? Expensive, but it seems like the cure-all for damaged hair. And I second Aveda's Dry Remedy and Damage remedy lines, they are amazing. Good luck!
