Hi! I have a 20 mo. old daughter who was just diagnosed with Cyclical Neutropenia. She had been sick with cough and colds since March. Her 4 front teeth was just fixed also with caps due to cavities. Her blood count revealed a very low neutrophils and her white blood count was only 4,000. We've been consulting with an Infectious Disease MD and having a weekly blood draw to follow up her blood levels. She was already referred to a Hematologist (which I hope will call soon!). I would like to ask if anybody out there had any experience on this kind of illness with their children. And if I can get any suggestions on what treatments worked and tips on preventing my dtr. from getting sick without putting her in a bubble! Thanks in advance and God bless you all!

The best thing to help the children with this type of condition is to raise their immunity. There are many supplements that can help such as calostrum, growth factors, etc. Oxigenating the blood would work good, as well as vitamin B12 to form new blood cells; hiperbaric oxigen might be beneficial: although I don't know if they apply it to very small children. Most germs can't survive in an oxigenated environment.
I don't think vaccinations would help at this moment, since they decrease immunity and might be counterproductive (my son got autism from them and his immune system dropped tremendously for about 5 yrs.) Be careful with tylenol, since it deplets the immune system as well.

I have helped other parents get help with this non-profit ministry: www.mannarelief.org (Hope program). I work to fund raise for them. They are making a big impact in the lives of children. Please take a moment to look at the site.

Hi D.,

I know it is hard when your child is sick. Not knowing what to do can be frustrating at times. If you are interested there will be a child's wellness Expo in San Jose on Aug 2. There will be 13 doctors from around the country putting this together to help resolve our concerns we have.

If interested you may email or call me and I will put you on the guest list.

Wish you well.

I don't know what it is but I'm so sorry. Having a child with a chronic illness is the worst.
