You can go to amazon.com to download the songs that you want and then just use windows media player. It's really easy.
I will be the first to admit that I am not computer savvy in the least so I'm sorry if this seems like a dumb question but I am interested in making a CD of songs for my daughter and I am not sure how to go about it. I can certainly burn a CD on my computer but can I get the songs I want on there on-line? Where would I go and then how exactly would I get them onto the CD? Or is there a website that will let me do it without it costing an arm and a leg and without getting hundreds of CDs? (I only need one!)
Thanks a bunch!

Walmart also has an online music store that makes it pretty easy to pick and choose individual tracks for purchase and download. With either Amazon or Walmart, you'll need to install their special program on your computer, however. This is so they can have some amount of control over how many computers the songs are downloaded to.
But the GOOD thing about these programs is that they are very user friendly and basically walk you through the process of buying/burning. Just go through the steps of collecting and purchasing the tracks and the sites will prompt you to download any necessary programs.
Here's the link for Walmart:
Just in case you didn't already know, if you have the CDs for the songs you want, you can upload those CDs to your computer, then choose the specific songs you want and burn those songs onto one CD for a mixed CD.
Do you use iTunes? You can buy the songs you want, create a playlist, then burn a CD.
