O.O.
Ok. First grade boy.
If he's anything like mine, you have no written assignment instructions and he mumbled the phrase "culture box" possibly paired with the phrase "due Friday"!
Email the teacher!!!'

A couple of years ago I put together displays each month using culture boxes from the Historical Society. They contained items illustrating the country being highlighted. For example Mexico had a sarape, a hat, a cookbook, pictures of people in native dress. I added beans, hot sauce made in Mexico, a soda can from Mexico.
Look up the country he is representing to learn about it. Then find items that come from that country. If they're representative they don't have to have been made in the country tho having been so is best.
I suggest you ask the teacher what she wants.
I would ask the teacher for more information. This seems like quite an assignment for first grade--was he assigned a country or is he supposed to do one to represent your culture?? When my kids were in early primary, they did something like Star of the Week and were given a poster board to decorate with things that were significant to them and then they were asked to bring a few things to "show and tell". Some kids displayed pictures, artwork, things they made, sports trophies.
Good luck!
It would be good to get clarification with your son present, as this is his project. Does he have a specific country assigned? Any materials to help direct him? Also ask the teacher if she had any print directions your son may have misplaced. It's important to let him go over the materials first and make some choices from the information presented.
Didn't the teacher send home instructions? If not (or maybe your son lost them) call/email and ask!
never heard of it will be interested to see what answers you get good luck, and like the other person said ask the teacher.
