Hi everyone im concerned about my baby he is 3 months, im a first time mom so i worry and dont know what to do or expect i need help please. Well this began 3 days ago and it has been continuing along and gotten even worst, my baby will only nap 30 min and wake up crying really bad like if he was in pain i mean its exagerating how bad the poor baby cries :( well after he wakes up he is so restless but will not go to sleep till like 3 hours after, then when he is finally asleep he wakes up in the next shortest 30 minutes so i dont think this is normal, nothing has changed i breastfeed him he eats the same amount as before i do the same routine. (CHNGES IN HIM) before he would sleep with a 100% cotton onezie and i would cover him with his own blanket and now, its like i only leave him on his t-shirt 100% cotton and he is swetting still, he has been playing with his hand in his mouth alot too and last he does so much stregnth in order to poop anyone has had this case before? If you have had this experience please give some advice or to anyone who knows about it i would really appreciate please

What can I do next?

It sounds like either an ear infection or colic. I would make an appointment with the pediatrician right away. In the mean time do you have a swing you could put the baby in? That way the baby is in an upright position & see if that gives some relief. I hope you both are feeling better very soon.

Sounds like he is teething, my son had his first tooth by the time he was 4 months old. Second, he might be constipated, it happens with breastfed babies too. Every pediatrician recomends something different for treating it, so I would call yours and see what he/she says.

He could have an earache if laying down for any bit of time causes him to cry. I made a dr's appt for my 20 month old a little while back b/c he was just fussier than normal. Turns out he had a raging ear infection with no other symptoms (slept fine, no pulling at his ear, no fever). In your son, the pressure may build up in his ear if he's laying too long making it extremely painful. Get him checked out, and hopefully both of you will feel better soon.

Hi Lucy :-)

Have you notified your pediatrician of your child's crying? You mention sweating a lot, perhaps your baby has an ear infection? I would phone the doctor right away. Also, you mention straining with his bowel movement, he may be constipated and needing more water even though you are breast feeding.. all things to bring to your pediatrician's attention right away.

There may be a benign reason as well for this crying such as early teething, but all in all I recommend you contact your pediatrician right away.

Once the baby is settled and the doctor has seen him, I offer that you visit my website www.amyfreundbodytalk.com and read about how you can learn to work WITH the energy of your son's body to help him be as balanced as happy as he can be.. you too!

There is a tab there that you can select which will teach you a FREE technique on how to balance your son's brain energy.. you can do this for yourself, too! The tab says Dr. Veltheim founder teaches CORTICES.. check out the two short videos and begin to practice this technique on yourself! It is wonderful for everyone so your son will enjoy it, too.

hugs,

Could be teething, but he sounds awfully distressed. I can't tell if you are saying he has no strength to poop, or if he has to use a great deal of strength to poop. Either way, he could have an intestinal problem. This sounds like it could be something serious, especially since it's been going on worse and worse for days. Please have a doctor check him. Don't delay any longer.

can you tell if he is in pain from his belly or his mouth. Sometimes babies will put their hands in their mouth when they are teething. Does tylenol, ibuprofen or gas-ex help? Could be intestinal ... could be just teething. I would talk to the doctor. Is he spitting up and or vomiting or just crying? What does his poop look like? Is it clumpy, soft, loose? Does he go every day? A few times a day?

It sounds like teething and it sounds like colic - the stretching to poop.

Just to ease your mind, make an appointment with the pediatrician.

My kids all went through an uncomfortable crying age at around that age with their digestion. I also nursed. It was like their body just wasn't ready to process things smoothly yet and they had very painful gas and would cry and cry. It lasted several weeks and resolved itself. He may have a little fever in their too with the sweating...you could have him checked if you feel something is wrong, but these things tend to come and go.

I'm sorry this is happening - it's so hard to see your baby go through any kind of distress.
I would probably take my baby to the pediatrician. Please don't give your baby tylenol or other medications without the ped's directions. He is still very small, and there are guidelines that say you shouldn't give OTC medication to kids under 3 or 4 years old. The ped will recommend it sometimes, and I think it's safer to find out when/how much is appropriate.
They say you should also be careful of the teething gels. They don't last very long anyway, and the numbing can cause problems with your baby's swallowing.

Sounds like the overtiredness and ear infection might be the likeliest causes. Keep breastfeeding him - that will be the best for constipation. I do remember that around 3 months old my exclusively breastfed baby sometimes took 5-7 days to poop (if it takes much longer then have him checked for that), which was quite normal, but it was like a volcano erupted. It was crazy. :) But then that passed after about 6 weeks.

Good luck to you and your baby.

see if his gums are hot if they are he is teething. if they are not get him to the doc. if he is teething use teething tablets and tylenol. hold a teething ring in his mouth for him to chew on. but the sweating is what makes me believe it is more than teething. everything else sounds like teething but that.

Could just be a wonderful week period (google it).

Mostly, it sounds like your baby is overtired.
