Pork or beef roast with potatoes, carrots, onions.
You don't even need to add liquid. Put meat on top of the veggies, add some salt & pepper.
I have asked about food before on here. well now im back in school and my hubby is working so i was wondering what is your favorite, healthy crock pot recipe?
Pork or beef roast with potatoes, carrots, onions.
You don't even need to add liquid. Put meat on top of the veggies, add some salt & pepper.
You can make almost anything in the crock pot. I like to make cut up chicken or turkey, add some potatoes and baby carrots. Pot roast, pork roast. You can do sloppy joes, bbq pork, scaloped potatoes with ham. Anything you would normally bake or roast can go in the crock pot. You can even make soups.
White chicken chili-super easy
2 lbs chicken breast
1 c diced onion (frozen or fresh)
2 cans white beans
2 cans diced green chilies
2 cans cream-style corn
1 can chicken broth
2 packages McCormick White Chili Seasoning
Cook on low for 6-8 hours
Chicken Taco Soup:
1 can (13oz) of DRAINED chicken breast (we really like 2 cans)
1 can (11oz) Rotel tomatoes
1 can (28oz) Diced tomatoes
1 can (4oz) green chiles (I often use the 7oz Walmart can)
1 can (15oz) Kidney beans
1 can (15oz) black beans
1 can (11oz) whole kernel corn
1 pkg taco seasoning mix
1 pkg ranch dressing mix
1. Shred the chicken, if desired. DO NOT drain the remaining cans.
2. Combine all ingredients into a crockpot and stir.
3. Cook on HIGH for 2 hours OR LOW for 4. Garnish with sour cream shredded cheese, or onions. Serve with tortilla chips. This makes quite a bit, GREAT tasting the next day.
Found this recipe with the cans of Member's Mark canned chicken at Sam's Club.
Crock-pot Cowboy Stew
1 pound browned hamburger (can use turkey)
2 cloves chopped garlic
1 can tomato sauce
1 can diced Italian seasoned tomatoes
1 can corn, drained
2 cans whole potatoes, drained
1 can Rotel tomatoes
1 can Ranch Style Beans
1 C water
This makes a lot so make sure your crock-pot is at least 5 quarts.
1. Brown met with the chopped garlic and drain.
2. Let it sit in the pan to cool slightly. In the meantime, open all of your cans and dump them in the crock-pot. DRAIN ONLY the corn and potatoes.
3. Add cooled meat and cup of water and stir till mixed.
4. Cover and cook on LOW for 8-10 hours or HIGH for 4-5 hours.
Great served with cornbread.
I got this recipe from this blogspot http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/ This is a woman that was determined to use her crock-pot every day for a year. Unless indicated, all her recipes are gluten free as someone on her family must have celiac disease. I've found wonderful recipes here, and some that I just pass on, they just seem too weird.
Also all the cans are the 11-15oz sizes. Her recipe didn't specify exact ounces but it isn't the little cans. Just average can size :)
This sounded good!

Check out the website HowDoesSheDoIt.com. (You have to register, but it's free.) They have hundreds of recipes (including some for crockpot), but the site also includes a menu planner and will print out a shopping list for you. It's an incredible time saver for busy moms!
our favorite is tuscan chicken with wilted greens by Robin Miller on Foodnetwork.com. (see here http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/robin-miller/tuscan-ch...) I always double the recipe and we eat on it for days. I skip the rosemary and instead use herbs de provence. Sometimes I add some white wine. As always, we use organic whenever possible and it just tastes SO much better! Also, the flavor improves upon sitting so usually by three or four days in it's utterly incredible instead of just great :D

Someone not too long ago wrote in and she got a lot of great recipes.
It was from Denise S. from Texas:
Here's one that's easy and tasty: Beef Stew
Layer:
2-3 pounds beef stew meat
about 4-6 potatoes, peeled and quartered
about 1 pound carrots, peeled and cut in chunks
1 pound frozen green beans
about 1 pound chopped tomatoes
a couple bay leafs and garlic cloves tucked in
Cook all day. you may have to adjust the amounts to fit your crock pot.
