Hi Ladies,
I have a 1 year old black 3 in 1 crib and a white armoire that were not used and I am wanting to sell them. I have heard good and bad things about Craigs list so I am a little skeptical about listing on there. Have any of you had any experience with buying or selling on there?
Thanks!

I have used Craigslist many times for buying and selling items. I sold a desk and received full asking price within 5 days of listing it. I have also purchased many baby items from the site. Just use caution when meeting someone. If someone comes to your house to buy something, have your husband or someone home with you and if feasible have the item already on your porch, garage, backyard, or atleast close to the front door to keep people from coming into your home. Meeting someone in a public area in daylight is also a good option. Never use or accept a check or credit card. If something seems fishy or not right, report them and definitely don't meet with them. The majority of people that I met with were legitimate but I am sure there are a few crooks out there looking to scam people.
Most people I know love craigslist, pretty much because it is free!!! The main complaint is that you get a lot of bargain hunters who will try to talk you down in price. It can get annoying. So if you do list there, be sure to put in your ad that your price is absolutely firm, no negotiation (if that's how you feel.) I have bought a few things there, and never tried to negotiate prices. I don't respond if I don't like the price. The people I have bought from have all been fair and seem happy with the process. One guy said he sold all three things he listed within 4 hours of posting! Can't beat that! Oh, and definitely include photos. That helps tremendously.
A friend of mine listed a bed/armoire on Craigs list and ONE hour later someone was at her house giving her cash. Most things go very quickly, and it is free to list. She listed the items for about 60% of what she paid for them. She needed to sell them quick to make room for a baby. I would list a higher price and list.. "or best offer".. if you go that route.
Good luck!!

I've had nothing but good experiences selling items through Craigs List. All people who have bought from me have been honorable, decent people. I highly recommend using the service.
I've never bought anything through Craigs List but I know plenty who have and they too have had good experiences.
I recommend that you give as much information as you can about your crib, including dimensions if possible. And pictures are always good to add because people will ask for pictures if you don't post them.
Good luck!

I've bought and sold on craigslist and have had very good experiences. I would recommend it to anyone. I agree that you should make sure you are not alone when you meet with people to buy or sell though...you can never be to careful.
I sell on craigs list all the time... good luck!

I have bought and sold successfully.

I have bought several things from craigslist with no problems.
I sold a daybed (like brand new-never used) on Craig's list after one phone call - I think it is a good site - just ask for cash - no checks or money orders - just cash. Always have someone at home with you too when they come to look. L.
