As some of the other posters have said, beware of the ones advertized, but the government site https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp
is good you can use it once a year and it is linked so that you are directed to each of the 3 services one after the other as soon as you finish getting the report from one it sends you on to the next one. As long as you don't click yes to any of the money charging offers while on each site, there is no charge.

The only one that is truely free without the hidden cost of having to take a membership out or some other strange thing is; https://www.annualcreditreport.com you are intitled to receive a free credit report from each of the three reporting agencies once a year. My suggestion is to get one from one of them one month, then in 3 or 4 months get one from one of the others then 3 or 4 months get a report from the last one then 4 months later you can start over again. That way you can stay up on your credit all year long.
Hope this helps.

The free credit report sites will give you a free copy of your credit REPORT, which is a list of your debts and payments, collection activities, etc., but you have to pay to get your credit SCORE, which is the number that finacial institutions and other places use to determine if you're a good risk or not.

As long as you have not received a free copy of your credit report in the last 12 months you can go the website above and get a copy of your CR from all three of the major CRAs.

Www.annualcreditreport.com let's u see everything for free but your score u have to pay 4.95 for one of them and 7.95 for a different one and the other one I'm not sure if it didn't have a score or what it never gave me the option to buy the score. It was the first time I've ever seen mine. My sisterinlaw uses that one and she has to monitor it very closely! She has a few people with the same name that keep getting on her credit. good luck hope yours looks better than mine. Lol

May I suggest you contact your local credit agency.
You are entitled to your credit report and I think
they would gladly give it to you.
You may ask they if they have a file on you, if so,
you should be entitled to look at it.

Good Luck God Bless

Like Rachel said below, www.annualcreditreport.com is the way to go. If you've already gotten copies of your reports in the past 12 months, you can still sign up for a free trial of some other website, like www.freecreditreport.com. You have to make sure you cancel before your trial runs out and they charge your credit card. And you may have to sign up for different free offers to get a report from each credit bureau. I just applied for a mortgage and had to do two free offers since I had already pulled 2 of my 3 reports in the last year. One trial was 7 days, one was 9, and I cancelled both the day after I signed up, so there was no charge. And if you do a trial, make sure you read the cancellation confirmation email carefully, because one of them required me to also go through the email to confirm the cancellation again even though I called and cancelled with a representative. Good luck!

You can get 1 free credit report each year from each of the 3 credit reporting agencies. You can also get a free one anytime you have been denied credit. Watch out for those companies like freecreditreport.com because there are always catches that will cost you money and it's never out in the open; always in the fine print. Go to each major reporting agencey individually and get your reports that way.
