Take a picture of you guys and the car and make a card and send it to them. Honestly, I think this is one of those gifts where a simple thank you is all that is needed.
Hi Moms - My brother and his wife live 1/2 way across the country. My brother and I are very close, we talk often ... but rarely see each other. :( My husband and I were looking for a 2nd car. We've been a 1 car family for awhile, and with the kids getting older, we need a 2nd car.
My brother and his wife, without us asking, sent us a check to help us out! I was shocked and THRILLED. With their help we were able to buy a great little car for my husband to commute with, leaving me the family van.
I want to do something to say THANKS. I dont want to buy them anything b/c they gave us money for the car, and we cleaned out our savings. I was going to get a card and send it out, but I thought maybe you all would have some ideas.
How do you thank somebody without spending money?
Take a picture of you guys and the car and make a card and send it to them. Honestly, I think this is one of those gifts where a simple thank you is all that is needed.
Are you creative at all? Maybe you could make a thank you note insteade of buying one. Do you have any left over Birthday/Christmas paper (or other nice paper) that is in good condition? You could get creative and make a nice card out of a combination of those papers, plus you're recycling!
You could also have your kids, depending on their age, either draw a picture about the ways dad is using the new car. If they are older, perhaps the kids could write a little story about some "trip' Dad (or the family) took in the car. (Ex. My dad left for work today in his new car, but on the way he saw a damsel in distress and stopped to help...you get the idea.)
If I think of other ideas, I'll add them. Good luck!
HOW ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!! YEAH!! FOR YOU!!!
take a picture of you and the family in front of or in the car - then print it out and mount it on card stock paper and send it to them!
I'm sorry you had to clean out your savings!! I know how hard that was!!!
GOOD LUCK!!
Buy an inexpensive toy car that is similar to to the one you bought, top it with a bow, put it in a bubble wrap envelope and mail it to your brother and wife with a nice thank you note.
Reassure them that you will repay them a little at a time.
Wow, that is really nice.
Whatever way you decide to thank them... make sure that your HUSBAND is directly a part of that.... and says/writes his thank you, too.
Not just you. Since it is your Husband's vehicle, now, gotten via your Brother's and his Wife's monetary gift.
