Does anyone have any tips for getting crayon wax out of the dryer? We tried kitchen degreaser and goo gone, but nothing seems to be working!
We ran a couple loads of towels applied the WD-40 in between each load...and it finally came off! I think because the crayon was red, it was extra stubborn! Thanks for all your help!

Did you try nasty smelly old hair spray yet? It works wonders on coming out of clothing-maybe it would do the trick for the dryer? If it does work be sure to wash out the dryer really well so something else does'nt get in there. Please let us know if it does work.
Worth a try! either a hot hair dryer or preferably an iron. if you take a plain brown paper sack and put it on the crayon,then heat it up the paper should absorb the wax as it melts. it works well for candle wax on carpet f.y.i. good luck and let us know how it worked!
I had the same thing happen recently. (By the way, I'm still trying to get the crayon out of the clothes. If you know something fool-proof, send me a note!)
I ran the dryer on the hot cycle for a while, and then was able to simply wipe the crayon off with an old towel.

Spray WD-40 on a cloth and wipe the dryer with it. repeat until all is gone
Run the dryer with an old towel to heat up. Then spray WD-40 on the towel and rub the crayon marks. Also the Magic Eraser does a pretty good job at getting it off.
If you use WD-40 use windex to get the residue off. If not you may get greasy marks on your clothes.
The key is heat. I would use a blow dryer, heat, and wipe with a paper towel. I have never tried this, but it makes sense to me.
We ironed some crayon and candle waxes out of the carpet, so you might try that. Or, I guess you could run the dryer for a few minutes to get it soft again and scrap it out with a dull knife.
When kids did this to me (twice in a week, in my new dryer) I first run some old rags thru on the hottest setting to try to pick up the extra residue. Then manually scrubbed it w/ goo b gone. Then rinsed off the residue of that w/ rags. It took care of it. Can still see some faded streaks of color, but nothing that gets onto the clothes.

It may be a little tricky given the dryer is curved, but heat up an iron and place a brown paper bag over the top of the crayon. Run the hot iron over the outside of the bag and the heat of the iron will melt the crayon onto the bag. I hope this makes sense, but it does work... I tried it when melted wax spilled onto our carpet. It came out very easily!
